Pregnant woman's belly button hurts

Some pregnant women feel a pulling pain in their belly button, which may be due to the mid-to-late stage of uterus. As the fetus begins to grow larger, the slightest movement of the fetus will pull it larger, and the umbilical cord connected to the mother's belly button will also pull the mother's belly button. This causes pregnant women to feel a pulling pain in their belly button. Let’s take a look at what is going on.

Starting from the second trimester, the fetus will grow very fast and the belly will be stretched, so the area around the belly button will feel stretched. It is recommended to use moisturizer to moisturize the skin on the belly as much as possible at this time, otherwise stretch marks will easily appear. Please rest assured that the pain around the belly button of pregnant women will not affect the baby in the belly.

There is another possibility that pregnant women may experience pain around their belly buttons: in the early stages of pregnancy, there will be occasional cramping in the lower abdomen, sometimes only on one side, sometimes the entire lower abdomen will hurt, but it will not be too painful, only a slight cramp. This is mainly because the ligaments supporting the uterus are pulled upward due to the swelling of the uterus during pregnancy.

1. Normal pain during pregnancy: During pregnancy, the uterus will gradually grow larger during the development of the embryo, and pregnant women will feel discomfort and stomach pain. Of course, this pain is often mild, so pregnant women don't need to worry too much.

2. Signs of threatened abortion: But if the abdominal pain is intermittent, or continuous lower abdominal pain, like the pain before or during menstruation, and is accompanied by vaginal bleeding, it may be threatened abortion and you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

3. Eating spoiled or overly frozen food: Intestinal cramps caused by eating spoiled or overly cold food can make pregnant women feel stomach pain.

4. Disease causes: Diseases such as acute gastritis, gastroenteritis, acute pancreatitis and degeneration of uterine fibroids can also cause pregnant women to feel abdominal pain.

If you have acute or frequent abdominal pain, you need to go to the hospital in time for symptomatic treatment to avoid worsening of the condition or causing miscarriage.
