Is there a risk to life?

Generally speaking, abortion is not life-threatening, but we also need to understand that all surgeries involve certain risks. This risk comes from both the surgery itself and may be related to improper postoperative care of the patient. If an infection occurs, the risk will gradually increase. In order to ensure the safety of abortion, we must first go to a regular hospital for the surgery, and secondly, we must pay attention to postoperative conditioning and care.

Is there a risk to life?

Any surgery has certain risks, and abortion surgery is no exception and also has corresponding dangers. However, since abortion itself is a minor operation, the probability of such a situation becoming dangerous is very low. Generally, doctors will give you a physical examination before surgery to determine your physical condition and whether you can withstand surgery.

How long do you usually rest after an abortion?

After an abortion, you need to rest for 2 weeks to allow the fetus to implant, because after the abortion operation, bleeding will continue for one to two weeks and then stop. The amount of bleeding should not exceed the amount of menstrual blood. It is normal to have occasional abdominal pain because the uterus is still in the recovery stage and uterine contractions can cause pain. The bleeding situation after abortion varies from person to person. Some people almost do not bleed after abortion, some people bleed very little, some people have no bleeding in the first few days, and then they will have brown bruises after a few days, and some people will bleed for about a week after the operation.

No matter which situation you are in, as long as the bleeding is not heavy and stops in about 10 days, it is normal. After curettage, the endometrium and hormone levels are affected. Although B-ultrasound examination after curettage shows that the uterus is normal, it usually takes at least three months for the function and endocrine function to fully recover.

Therefore, the reasons for abnormal menstruation in the first month or even the first few months after uterine curettage may be delayed or advanced menstruation, or the menstrual flow may become less or more, etc. Everything will be fine after the hormone levels in your body gradually return to normal. After an abortion, you should pay attention to menstrual hygiene, keep a happy mood, and you can also take some anti-inflammatory and hemostatic drugs. It is best not to get pregnant within six months to give the body a chance to recuperate and repair itself.
