Tips for treating cervical erosion

Tips for treating cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is a big health killer for many women, because it has a great impact on the health of women's reproductive system. If not treated in time, it will cause many other types of gynecological diseases, causing great pain to female patients. So, how to treat cervical erosion? This will be introduced below!

1. Drug treatment

It is suitable for patients with smaller erosion area and shallower inflammatory infiltration. Antibiotics can be used for local application, such as metronidazole, sulfonamides, furazolidone, etc. Traditional Chinese medicine is widely used in the clinical treatment of cervical erosion, and the effect is also good. Some proven prescriptions and formulas are often selected, processed into powders or suppositories, placed on cotton balls, and applied to the eroded surface. Generally, the medicine is applied twice a week. During the treatment, there will be more yellow vaginal discharge, but there should be no odor. Treatment usually starts after the menstruation is over, and the medicine is applied continuously for one month and discontinued during the menstrual period.

2. Physical therapy

It is a widely used treatment method at present, with the advantages of short treatment course and good efficacy. It is suitable for patients with larger erosion area and deeper inflammatory infiltration. Commonly used methods include electric ironing, laser therapy, and cryotherapy.

Before physical therapy surgery, the vulva, vagina, and cervix should be routinely disinfected. Since the amount of fluid discharged after surgery is large, care should be taken to keep the vulva clean and dry to prevent infection. Sexual intercourse, bathing and vaginal douching are prohibited until the wound has completely healed, which usually takes 4 to 8 weeks. After treatment, the patients were reviewed once a month to check the wound healing status.

3. Traditional surgical treatment

If the above treatments are ineffective, or if there is cervical hypertrophy, or the erosion is deep and extensive, and involves the cervical canal, traditional surgical treatments such as total hysterectomy may be considered. However, surgical treatment is rarely used nowadays.

4. Regular review

If vaginal bleeding after treatment exceeds the amount of menstruation, go to the hospital for examination. Cure criteria: Cure: The scab on the cervix falls off, and new cervical mucosal tissue grows out, which is light pink and has a smooth surface; Markedly effective: The clinical symptoms and signs basically disappear, the erosion surface shrinks by more than 50%, or moderate turns to mild, and severe turns to moderate; Ineffective: There is no change in the erosion area.
