How many days does it take for the follicle to grow?

The follicle is the largest cell in the human body. Many people may not know how many days it takes for a follicle to grow. The growth rate varies in different age groups. Generally, it takes about half a month to grow. The follicles can be examined through B-ultrasound, which can accurately determine the maturity of the follicles and the date of ovulation, which is helpful in examining infertile patients. Let’s take a closer look at how many days it takes for an ovarian follicle to grow.

We know that if women want to get pregnant, they need a healthy body. At this time, they should pay attention to their daily life and eating habits to avoid unnecessary harm, especially whether the follicles are normal. Before ovulation, the egg cannot be seen because it is very small. Only when it develops into a follicle can we see it under a microscope. The follicle is already very large at that time. In the tenth to fourteenth day before menstruation, that is, during the ovulation period, how long does it take for the follicle to grow?

1. The first one is the growth rate of the follicles, which is actually determined based on the morphology of the follicle development process itself and the functional changes. If the follicles develop faster, the follicular phase will be shortened, and menstruation will occur more frequently, and it is very likely that multiple menstruations will occur.

2. Also, from the third to the fifth day of the menstrual cycle, small follicles can be found in the ovaries. They gradually grow larger and are the largest on the fourteenth day on average. Ovulation occurs at this time. From the fifth day of menstruation to before ovulation, the primary follicle grows an average of 1.5 mm per day, and before the tenth day, it grows an average of 1.2 mm per day until the follicle matures.

3. Also, the size of the follicles and whether the follicle development is normal have a great impact. If the size of the follicles is not standard and does not reach the normal value, it will affect normal ovulation or the quality of the discharged eggs will be poor, affecting the normal conception of women. Special attention should be paid to it in normal times.
