What happens if you take birth control pills?

Everyone knows that women are very weak during menstruation, so they must pay attention to preventing some diseases during this period, and for health reasons, sexual intercourse must be prohibited during this period. Although the probability of women getting pregnant during this period will be greatly reduced, the reduced probability does not mean that they will not get pregnant, so contraception is also very necessary. So what will happen if you take contraceptive pills during your period?

There is no need to take birth control pills during menstruation because the menstrual period is not the ovulation period, so there is no need to take birth control pills. The body's immune ability is already reduced during menstruation, and taking birth control pills will have a greater impact on the body.

1. Increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstrual period: This often occurs in people who take long-acting oral contraceptives. Hemostatic drugs can be used when bleeding is heavy. If the menstrual volume continues to increase and bleeding continues for more than 3 months, you should stop taking long-acting oral contraceptives and take short-acting ones instead.

2. Breakthrough bleeding: Bleeding during medication, usually occurs after missing a dose. A small number of people may experience vaginal bleeding even if they have not missed a dose. If it occurs in the first half of the menstrual cycle, it may be bleeding due to estrogen deficiency.

3. Decreased menstrual flow or amenorrhea: This often occurs after taking short-acting contraceptives. This is because the drugs inhibit ovulation, the ovaries secrete less estrogen, and the drugs contain less estrogen. The endometrium cannot grow normally and the endometrium is thin, so the menstrual flow decreases or even stops.
