What is the principle of ovulation test paper

Ovulation test strips are also an invention used on the female body. The difference from pregnancy test strips is that ovulation test strips are mainly used to detect whether a woman's body is in the ovulation period, which can prepare for pregnancy more effectively. Even if a couple is not trying to get pregnant, they can use ovulation test strips to infer the woman's ovulation period, which can also be an effective way of preventing pregnancy. But how does the ovulation test paper test the ovulation period?

Ovulation test strips are tools that predict ovulation by detecting the peak level of luteinizing hormone (LH). Normal women maintain a small amount of luteinizing hormone in their bodies. In the middle of the menstrual cycle, the secretion of luteinizing hormone increases rapidly, forming a peak, and within the next 28 hours, it stimulates the release of a mature egg, that is, ovulation. Therefore, ovulation test strips can enable women to predict when is the best time to conceive or use contraception.

When two purple-red lines appear on the test paper, and the lower line (test line) is significantly lighter than the upper line (control line), it means that the LH level in the urine has not yet reached a peak and daily testing must be continued.

When two purple-red lines appear on the test paper, and the upper and lower lines (control line and test line) are basically the same color, or the lower line (test line) is darker than the upper line (control line), it means that you will ovulate within 24 to 48 hours.

When only one purple-red line (control line) appears on the test strip at the top, it indicates no ovulation.

Be sure to use ovulation test strips correctly

1. Collect urine in a clean, dry container. Remember not to use morning urine.

2. The best time to collect urine is from 10 am to 8 pm.

3. Try to use urine samples from the same time every day.

4. Reduce water intake within 2 hours before collecting urine, because diluted urine samples will hinder the detection of luteinizing hormone (LH) peak values.

5. Hold the test paper and immerse the end with the arrow mark line into the urine. After about three seconds, take it out and lay it flat. Observe the result after 10-20 minutes. The result is based on the reading within 30 minutes. The liquid level must not exceed the MAX line.

6. It is best to start testing on the 3rd day after your period ends, and it is best to test every day. However, it cannot be tested with first-morning urine. Until the two bars are the same depth or the second bar is darker than the first, it means you will ovulate within 24 to 48 hours. There is a possibility of pregnancy if you have sex within 3 days before ovulation (sperm waiting for egg) to 3 days after ovulation (egg waiting for sperm). If you get two bars, you can have sex on the day of ovulation, and then again the next day (because sperm can survive for 48 to 72 hours).
