Is cervical cancer serious?

Is cervical cancer serious?

There are many reasons for the formation of cervical tumors, which are largely related to daily living habits. There are two types of cervical tumors, but benign tumors are rare, so this is a very serious condition. Pay attention to prevention in daily life, and seek prompt examination when some physical symptoms appear to avoid delaying the disease. It takes a long time for cervical tumors to develop into cervical cancer, so it is best to have a physical examination once a year.

Causes of cervical tumors

The main causes of cervical cancer are as follows:

1. Sexual life: The most common cause of human papillomavirus infection is "improper sexual life." The report points out that women who do not have sexual life usually do not develop cervical cancer, and the earlier they have improper sexual life, the more likely they are to develop cervical cancer in the future. In terms of sexual partners, if a woman has more than two male partners, her chance of developing cervical cancer increases significantly.

2. Age: 35 to 45 years old is the most common age for cervical cancer.

3. Sexually transmitted disease infection: Sexually transmitted disease infection usually indicates a more complicated sexual life, and the risk of developing cervical cancer will be higher.

4. Cervical inflammation: If the cervix is damaged, broken, eroded, or inflamed for a long time, it may turn into early cervical tumor cells.

5. Smoking: Smoking increases the chance of developing cervical cancer: firstly, smoking reduces the body's immunity and accelerates the development of cervical cancer cells; secondly, smoking itself produces some substances that may cause the development of cervical cancer cells.

6. Society and race: Cervical cancer itself has little correlation with race. It is generally believed that women with lower social and economic status are more likely to get cervical cancer, but the real factor should be earlier sexual experience, which has no direct correlation with economic income and social status itself.

7. Female hormones: Some scholars believe that progesterone (a female hormone) will change the stability of cervical epithelial cells, making them prone to abnormal changes and possibly leading to the development of cervical tumor cells.

Is cervical cancer serious?

Cervical tumors are divided into benign tumors and cervical cancer. Benign tumors are rare, such as polyps and leiomyoma. The first symptom of cervical cancer is vaginal bleeding, mainly contact bleeding. Secondly, there is an increase in leucorrhea, which is white, light yellow, thin and watery, and has a fishy smell. Secondly, if the tumor is large, there will be compression symptoms. In addition, patients often experience weight loss, anemia, fever, cachexia, etc.

Cervical cancer prevention

As long as we pay attention to early prevention and early screening of cervical cancer, cervical cancer can be eliminated. First of all, we should pay attention to some minor symptoms. If women have the following early manifestations, they should pay special attention:

1. Contact bleeding: It may be the only early sign. It refers to a small amount of vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse, gynecological examination, and straining to have a bowel movement due to constipation. Since this symptom can also be seen in cervical erosion and cervical polyps, it is easy to be ignored.

2. Irregular vaginal bleeding after menopause: It occurs in postmenopausal women. Because it is not accompanied by any pain, it is not easy to attract the attention of patients.

3. Increased vaginal secretions: commonly known as increased leucorrhea. Vaginal discharge increases, is white or bloody, thin like water or rice soup, and has a fishy odor. It is easily mistaken for vaginitis and thus delayed in treatment.

Cervical cancer: Early prevention and early treatment are not scary: Compared with other tumors, cervical cancer is the easiest tumor to detect and prevent early, and it is also one of the tumors with the best treatment effect. It is a relatively long process for cervical tumors to mutate and develop into cervical cancer, usually taking 10 to 15 years. If the disease is detected and treated in its early stages, the cure rate is almost 100%. For this reason, women who have sexual activities should undergo a gynecological examination (or census) once a year to prevent problems before they occur.
