What to do if follicular development is delayed

What to do if follicular development is delayed

The follicle is an important component of the ovary, and its degree of development determines important functions of the ovary, such as reproductive function. Therefore, if follicular development is delayed, it may affect women's reproductive function. Because the situation in this area is very complicated, symptomatic treatment is necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment. So, what should we do if follicular development is delayed? Let’s take a look below.

What to do if follicles grow slowly

1. Inspection

The follicle test will measure the body temperature and you can measure the temperature yourself at home without going to the hospital every month. There are many reasons why the follicles are small and grow slowly. The most important thing is to check the six hormone items and B-ultrasound first to rule out polycystic and hormone problems.

2. Lifestyle

The most important thing is not to be nervous. If we don’t get pregnant for more than two months, we will all start to feel stressed. However, being too nervous is not good for follicle development and ovulation. I was preparing for pregnancy until the fifth month, but I just couldn't accept the arrival of my period. I felt so unlucky. As a result, my period came and then disappeared after one day, and came again a week later. My ovulation was also very late that month, and I was really scared.

I have to be restrained in my diet and rest. I have never left this city either for school or work. I have a lot of friends, and we get together once every three days and once every five days. We always eat and sing until the early morning. When I first started preparing for pregnancy, I felt that staying at home was really boring. But after a while, I was able to find fun things to do, such as taking a walk with my husband, reading a book at night, and slowly getting used to maturing early and waking up early.

How much does an ovarian follicle grow in a day?

The egg grows at a rate of about 1-3mm/day, and the closer to ovulation, the faster it grows. The mature follicle is 18-25mm, and the mature follicle usually ovulates within 24-48 hours.

A mature follicle should have three characteristics: a diameter greater than 18 mm, and be round rather than elliptical, and B-ultrasound should show good sound transmission. It will be excreted soon after it matures.

In each menstrual cycle, only one follicle is produced to maturity, which is called the dominant follicle. The other follicles are inhibited by inhibitory factors, stop growing, and degenerate into atretic follicles. From the 5th to 6th day of the cycle, the diameter of the follicle is about 5 to 7 mm. On the 10th day, the diameter of the follicle can reach 10 mm, which can be clearly shown by ultrasound. In a normal cycle, the speed of follicle development is relatively constant, about 1 to 3 mm/day, and the fastest can reach 4 mm/day. The closer to ovulation, the faster the growth. It can grow by 7 mm 5 hours before ovulation, and can mature and be discharged when it develops to 18-23 mm.
