Frequent urination but low urine volume during pregnancy

The second trimester is a very important period. Any abnormality in the pregnant woman's body at this time will cause great concern. Frequent urination but low urine volume often occurs in the second trimester of pregnancy, which is definitely very worrying, but generally speaking it is a normal phenomenon unless there are other abnormalities in the body. Let’s take a closer look at the details of frequent urination but low urine volume in the second trimester of pregnancy.

First of all, we should understand how the urge to urinate (the feeling of urinating) is formed? The urine produced by the kidneys flows slowly through the ureters to the bladder. It is not directly urinated out but stored in the bladder. When a certain amount of urine is produced, the bladder contracts and urine is discharged from the body through the urethra. The ureteral openings and urethral openings on both sides form a triangle in the bladder, which we call the bladder trigone. Under normal circumstances, when the stored urine reaches a certain amount, it will stimulate the bladder trigone area and produce the urge to urinate.

After pregnancy, the gradually enlarging uterus will press on the bladder next to it, stimulating the bladder trigone and producing the urge to urinate. Therefore, symptoms of frequent urination and urgency are normal for pregnant women. Of course, pregnant women are also prone to urinary tract infections and may experience symptoms of frequent and urgent urination. Generally speaking, a routine urine test can be used to identify it. If the urine leukemia level is elevated, a urinary tract infection is considered; if the urine routine is normal, it is considered a normal reaction.

The symptoms of frequent urination and urgency in pregnant women are not caused by increased urine volume. Reducing water intake to reduce urine volume will not relieve this symptom. Moreover, the regular flushing of the urinary tract by urine is itself a form of health care for the urinary tract. Drinking more water and urinating frequently can prevent urinary tract infections. Frequent urination and urgency are normal symptoms during pregnancy, but they need to be differentiated from urinary tract infection by doing a routine urine test. In this case, you should not only drink less water, but also drink more water.

In short, it is normal for pregnant women to have frequent urination and urgency. Almost all pregnant women will experience frequent urination. This situation will last throughout the pregnancy and will naturally disappear after the baby is born.
