Fetal movement decreases in the 7th month of pregnancy

We all know that fetal movements gradually decrease in the later stages of pregnancy. This is because the fetus is preparing for delivery. At this time, the fetus will adjust its direction and the fetal movement will also change, so mothers don’t need to worry too much. If the fetal movement decreases during the 7th month of pregnancy, but the fetal movement is regular and the changes are not great, it is generally normal. However, if you cannot feel the fetal movement, this should be taken seriously and an ultrasound examination should be performed.

The movement of the fetus in the uterus is called fetal movement. Fetal movement is a sign that the fetus is doing well in the uterus. Under normal circumstances, most pregnant women can feel slight fetal movements at 18-20 weeks of pregnancy, 3-5 times per hour. After that, as the pregnancy weeks increase, the fetal movements become more active, reaching a peak at seven months, but they will decrease in the late pregnancy. The fetal movement is different in the morning, noon and evening. It is generally more even from 8 to 12 in the morning, the least at 2 to 3 in the afternoon, and then gradually increases, reaching the highest at 8 to 11 in the evening.

Due to individual differences, each pregnant mother's physical condition is different, so the feeling of fetal movement will also be different. If the pregnant mother's abdominal wall is thicker, there is more amniotic fluid, or her sensitivity is not so strong, she may not feel much fetal movement.

However, it should be emphasized here that if your fetal movement is not always relatively small, but suddenly becomes less, less than 20 times in 12 hours, or less than 3 times per hour, then you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately, because this abnormal fetal movement indicates that the baby in your belly is likely to be lacking in oxygen and is in danger at any time. If rescue is not timely, the fetus will stop moving and even the fetal heart will disappear, and the heart will stop beating and the fetus will die. This process takes about 12 to 48 hours.

When you are seven months pregnant, the fetus is in an active period, and because it is not very big yet, there is more space for movement in the uterus, so this is the time when the baby's movements are most intense. Pregnant mothers can clearly feel the movement of the baby in the abdomen, and can even see the little hands and feet protruding from the belly. Finally, it is recommended that all pregnant women monitor fetal movement under the guidance of a doctor. If you find any abnormality, go to the hospital immediately.
