What are the villous labia minora?

In recent years, the incidence of gynecological diseases has remained high, seriously affecting women's physical health. Among them, there is a gynecological disease called villous labia minora, which is a common disease. Its previous name was pseudo-condyloma of the vulva. However, research results in recent years have shown that villous labia minora is not a sexually transmitted disease, but a variation within the normal range. So, what is going on?

The villous labia minora were formerly called vulvar pseudocondyloma, vulvar papillary hirsutism, and vulvar villous papilloma. Domestic research in recent years has shown that this condition is neither a sexually transmitted disease nor a tumor, but a variation within the normal range. In order to avoid mistaking it for a tumor or condyloma, the most appropriate name is villous labia minora.

This condition mainly occurs in married women of childbearing age aged 20-40. Generally, they have no history of promiscuity and are not complicated by other sexually transmitted diseases. The disease lasts for a long time, more than half a year. Many women discover it accidentally, such as when washing the vulva with water or during obstetrics and gynecology examinations. It is a disease in which multiple, clustered granular and villous abnormal protrusions occur on the inner sides of the labia minora, vaginal vestibule, and around the urethral orifice. They are evenly distributed, have a smooth surface, are non-keratinized, and are mucosal-colored or light red. They do not change for a long time and will not proliferate. They will not turn white when applied with 5% acetic acid.

This disease does not require special treatment. This situation needs to be distinguished from genital warts because the latter is a sexual disease. Many women have been misdiagnosed with genital warts, which has led to the loss of reputation, breakdown of love, marital discord, and family breakdown.

The cause of villous labia minora is not very clear. It may be related to the mechanical friction of sexual life or the stimulation of vaginal inflammatory secretions. The fact that villous labia minora rarely appear in unmarried girls is evidence of this.

Therefore, villous labia minora is not a sexually transmitted disease. Girls suffering from this disease do not have to bear heavy psychological pressure, but should enjoy the beauty of sex life like normal people. Of course, if you feel unwell, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time to ensure that your normal life is not affected.
