Should I express the unfinished milk?

Should I express the unfinished milk?

Nowadays, many parents always take care of their babies blindly and are blindly confident, which eventually leads to some bad problems. For example, some mothers, as new mothers, do not receive professional guidance at the beginning of the confinement period and do not pay attention to breast care. Some even think that they will squeeze out and throw away the milk they cannot finish. In fact, breast milk is rich in nutrients, so it doesn't matter whether the leftover milk should be squeezed out.

The milk within the first 3-5 minutes is foremilk, which is 90% water and 10% vitamins. The milk within the last 5-10 minutes is hindmilk, the main components of which are protein, fat and sugar.

If the mother has too much milk and the baby cannot finish it, she can do the following:

Each time you feed both sides of the breast, make sure to feed them alternately. That is, if you feed the left side first this time, feed the right side first next time, and finish feeding one breast before feeding the other side. This can ensure that the milk is sucked out completely, and the baby can eat both the thinner milk that is secreted at the beginning and the thicker, fat-rich milk that is secreted at the end, ensuring that the child gets enough balanced nutrients.

Every time you breastfeed, it is best to let the baby suck out all the milk. If the milk is not completely sucked out, squeeze out the remaining milk. The more you squeeze your milk, the more milk you will produce, and it can also prevent mastitis caused by milk stagnation.

New mothers can store breast milk so that their baby can have it when they are not around, and it can also help maintain your milk supply when you are with your baby. If you are going to return to work and want to continue breastfeeding, it is very necessary to express and save the milk.
