Placental barrier terminology

Placental barrier terminology

As we all know, when the baby is in the mother's womb, all nutrients and gases are transferred to the baby by the mother through the embryo. But in addition to delivering nutrients to the baby, the mother's excellence is more than that. The placental barrier is also one of the guarantees to provide a safe growth environment for the baby. What is the placental barrier?

The placental barrier is a natural barrier between the embryonic villus tissue and the uterine sinusoids. The natural barrier is composed of the endothelial cells, basement membrane, connective tissue and epithelial cell basement membrane and villus epithelial cells of the capillaries in the villus core. For the sinusoid villus type embryo, they all belong to the somatic tissue. Other types of embryos contain maternal tissue, such as uterine wall epithelial cells, basement membranes, connective tissue, and epidermis.

The embryo has two independent respiratory systems, the embryo and the pregnant mother. The hair can be regarded as a semipermeable membrane. When the maternal blood flows in the gaps between the hairs and the fetal blood flows in the hairs, substances can be exchanged. It is generally believed that oxygen, carbon dioxide and a large number of small molecules of water rely on external diffusion and infiltration. Biological macromolecules such as proteins, antigens, growth hormones, etc. are transported by active transport and endocytosis. Some larger molecular structures (such as Rh-positive antigens, etc.) are generally not allowed to be shipped, but under conditions of oxygen deficiency, trauma, and special childbirth, cross-flow and contamination may occur. During normal pregnancy, maternal blood and fetal blood separate and interact with each other, while also selectively exchanging substances. This condition is called the placental barrier.

How is the embryo shield composed?

Mother Bao is the first and most outstanding guardian of the baby, and the placenta barrier is formed to protect the baby. So what is the placental barrier composed of?

The natural barrier between the embryonic villi and the uterine sinuses is called the placental barrier. The natural barrier consists of endothelial cells, basement membrane, connective tissue and epithelial cell basement membrane and villi epithelial cells of the capillaries in the villi core. The embryo is composed of tissues from the pregnant mother and the fetus, including hcg, villous spaces and basal decidua. In addition, the embryo is also a human organ that grows collaboratively from the embryonic membrane and the mother's uterine wall during human pregnancy and exchanges substances between mother and child. HCG contains umbilical blood vessels, from which many hairs of different sizes are transmitted. These hairs are dispersed in the maternal blood, absorb oxygen and nutrients in the maternal blood, and metabolize substances. Some metal ions such as sodium and potassium (Na, K), endogenous substances (such as carbohydrates, etc.), vitamins and metabolic inhibitors can pass through the embryo by active transport, thus providing nutrients for the growth and development of the fetus. The fetus grows and develops in the uterus, obtaining nutrients from the pregnant mother through the embryo, and both sides maintain complete consciousness. The embryo also produces a variety of hormones, enzymes, cytokines, etc. to maintain a normal pregnancy.
