Fibrosis is a tumor and also a disease that will have a certain impact on the patient's health. Breast fibroids generally grow in deep tissues. When they occur, there are no particularly obvious symptoms and the patient will not feel any pain. This benign tumor generally does not affect human health, but if it is in a more dangerous position, it is better to treat it in time! 1. Symptoms and signs of fibromatosis The tumor is located in deep tissue, with no obvious subjective symptoms or slight discomfort, grows slowly, and is irregular or oval in shape. Its long diameter is consistent with the direction of the affected muscle fibers. The size of the tumor is related to the duration of the disease, with a diameter ranging from several centimeters to more than ten centimeters. The tumor has unclear boundaries, a smooth surface, no tenderness, and is as tough as rubber. It is relatively fixed longitudinally to the invaded muscles, but can move slightly laterally and has no adhesion to the skin. Huge tumors can affect activities and compress nerves. Microscopically, the tumor contains abundant collagen fibers. The lesion has no capsule and no boundary with the surrounding tissue. Sometimes the surrounding tissue is included in the lesion. Nuclear division is rare, and capillaries and fat cells are less common. In a few recurrent cases, fibrosarcoma-like morphological changes may occur. 2. Treatment of fibromatosis The main approach is wide surgical resection. Radiotherapy and hormone application can inhibit tumor growth in individual cases, but it is generally believed that they cannot be used as the main treatment method. They can be used as palliative treatment for those who cannot undergo surgery. Key points of surgery: Although this disease has malignant biological behavior with multiple recurrences, extensive and thorough surgical resection can prevent recurrence. Repair method: After extensive resection of fibromatosis, there are often muscle defects or exposure of large blood vessels and nerves, exposed bones and joints, and cartilage tissue defects. Local myocutaneous flap or muscle flap repair is the most ideal. 3. Prevention and care of fibromatosis Fibromatosis is a fibrous tissue tumor rich in collagen that originates from muscle, aponeurosis, and fascia. It is benign or low-grade malignant pathologically, but the tumor has no capsule and grows in an invasive manner. It has obvious malignant biological behavior, that is, it stubbornly recurs many times, but rarely metastasizes to distant sites. The recurrence rate is 25-57%, and the recurrence time is mostly 1 month to 1 year after surgery, and can even reach more than 10 years. Therefore, this type of tumor is also called invasive fibromatosis. Multiple recurrences can cause the lesions to spread to a wider range, leading to uncontrollable growth, invasion of important organs and life-threatening. |
