The most important function of the fallopian tube to the body is reproduction. The fallopian tube is divided into four parts. The fimbria is closest to the ovary and has great mobility. Under the regulation of sex hormones and the coordinated action of the peristalsis of the fallopian tube muscles and the swinging of cilia, it transports the egg from the fimbria of the fallopian tube to the ampulla of the fallopian tube, and transports the sperm from the interstitial part of the fallopian tube to the ampulla of the fallopian tube. After the fertilized egg is formed in the ampulla of the fallopian tube, it is transported back to the uterine cavity. We may be surprised why the fallopian tube can peristalsis and transport in both directions, but this is the wonder of the human body. During the entire transportation process, the fertilized egg continues to divide and develop to a maturity level where it can take root in the endometrium.

In some unavoidable situations, for example, after an ectopic pregnancy, the structure and function of the fallopian tube are damaged, and the lumen of the fallopian tube is obstructed. If surgical treatment is not taken, it may cause ectopic pregnancy again, causing secondary harm to women, or congenital malformations of the fallopian tube, etc. At this time, we must choose to remove the fallopian tube. We have two fallopian tubes, one on each side. If one side is removed and the other side functions normally, there is still a 50% chance of conception. In addition, there are a few clinical reports that show that one fallopian tube can pick up the egg discharged from the opposite ovary, which also increases the conception rate.

After fallopian tube removal, female reproductive cells no longer have a channel for transportation or a place for them to meet, which seriously affects their reproductive function and may also have an impact on other tissues in the pelvic cavity. Removal of the fallopian tube has little impact on other systems.
