Can I ovulate if my fallopian tube is blocked?

When a woman's fallopian tube is blocked, her eggs cannot be discharged naturally, and the male sperm cannot pass through the fallopian tube. Therefore, the normal pregnancy function of the woman will be affected to a certain extent. When checking for infertility, the fallopian tube is the first thing to consider, because the fallopian tube is close to the ovary. So can ovulation occur if the fallopian tube is blocked?

The fallopian tubes are part of the female internal reproductive system. They appear as a pair of slender and curved tubes located at the upper edge of the broad ligament of the uterus. The inner side is connected to the uterine horn, and the outer end is free and close to the ovary. The total length is 8-15 cm. The fallopian tubes and ovulation are two different functions. Ovulation is a function of the ovaries; the fallopian tubes do not participate in ovulation. The eggs come from the ovaries, and the function of the fallopian tubes is mainly to capture and transport the eggs and transport them to the uterine cavity, or to transport the sperm and eggs to meet, and then send the fertilized eggs into the uterine cavity.

Ovulation is still possible even if the fallopian tubes are blocked. Ovulation occurs when the ovarian follicle ruptures and the egg is released into the abdominal cavity without passing through the fallopian tubes. Although fallopian tube obstruction has no direct relationship with ovulation, eggs are discharged from the ovaries. Therefore, women with blocked fallopian tubes will still ovulate periodically as long as their ovaries function normally. Regular menstruation means periodic ovulation.

Fallopian tube obstruction has little to do with ovarian function and generally does not affect ovulation. But whether it is fallopian tube obstruction or ovulation disorder, it will affect conception. Fallopian tube obstruction is often caused by adhesion, congestion, edema of the fallopian tube wall due to artificial abortion, spontaneous abortion, medical abortion, induced labor, unclean sexual intercourse, pelvic infection, etc., which leads to blockage, resulting in the inability of sperm and egg to combine, and ultimately leading to infertility. In this case, the most advanced combined technology of fallopian tube endoscope, hysteroscope and laparoscopy can be used to directly act on the diseased area to clear the reproductive tract. This technology is painless, has a quick recovery and a high pregnancy rate.
