The uterus is an indispensable reproductive organ in the female reproductive system. If a woman loses her uterus, it means that she has lost her fertility. However, since the uterus is closely connected to the female vagina, when vaginal inflammation or gynecological diseases occur in the vagina, it will directly affect the health of the uterus. Some women experience uterine bleeding during their non-menstrual period. Is it serious? 1. Ovulation bleeding People often hear this term. Western medicine calls it ovulation bleeding. Traditional Chinese medicine calls it "intermenstrual bleeding". This is due to a temporary drop in estrogen levels, which causes the endometrium to lose hormone support and partially shed, causing regular vaginal bleeding. The amount of bleeding is not much. Some people only have a small amount of brown discharge, which generally lasts for half a day or 2-3 days, and no more than 7 days at most. It may be accompanied by mild ovulation pain and backache. If you are measuring your basal body temperature, you can find that this bleeding generally occurs during the transition from low body temperature to high body temperature. If the symptoms are mild, you can do without treatment, but if the symptoms are obvious and may affect fertility, you should treat it. 2. Functional uterine bleeding It is called functional uterine bleeding for short. This disease is very common in clinical practice. It is mainly caused by the dysfunction of neuroendocrine function regulating reproduction. Its manifestations are usually irregular menstrual cycle, excessive menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period or irregular bleeding. The principle of treatment is to stop bleeding quickly, adjust and establish a normal menstrual cycle after stopping bleeding, and prevent recurrence. Due to long-term bleeding, some people are also accompanied by varying degrees of anemia, so it is also very important to correct anemia. 3. Vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse We call it contact bleeding, which is often related to gynecological diseases such as vaginitis, cervical erosion, cervical polyps, early cervical cancer, submucosal fibroids, etc. Going to a gynecologist as soon as possible is the only option. 4. Postmenopausal vaginal bleeding There are two possibilities for vaginal bleeding in menopausal women, especially after the age of 60. For some women who still have sexual life, due to endocrine changes after menopause, the vagina is dry. If some lubricants are not used, it is easy to cause mechanical damage to the vagina and bleeding. |
