Will leucorrhea increase during pregnancy?

Women's lower body secretions will increase during pregnancy. Although women's menstruation will stop due to pregnancy, women's bodies will still feel uncomfortable during the menstrual period every month. In addition, women's leucorrhea may increase during this period, and even contain blood or brown in the leucorrhea. So what causes the increase in leucorrhea during pregnancy?

In the impression of most women, increased vaginal discharge is often a concomitant symptom of certain gynecological diseases. Therefore, some women who have increased vaginal discharge after pregnancy will worry about whether it is caused by gynecological diseases and whether it will affect pregnancy.

In fact, if a woman has more vaginal discharge in the early stages of pregnancy, it is not necessarily caused by abnormal lesions, but may just be a normal physiological phenomenon.

In order to maintain normal pregnancy activities, the corpus luteum in a woman's ovaries will secrete more estrogen and progesterone during pregnancy. Under the influence of these hormones, it is normal for women to have increased vaginal discharge, so there is no need to worry too much.

Of course, we cannot completely rule out the possibility that abnormal lesions may cause increased vaginal discharge. So, how do we make a judgment? The most important method is to observe the characteristics of leucorrhea and whether any abnormal symptoms occur.

If the amount of leucorrhea increases but there are no abnormal changes in color, odor, or properties, it is usually a normal phenomenon.

However, if a pregnant woman's vaginal discharge increases and also shows changes in color, a strange odor, or even contains purulent substances or a small amount of blood, timely examination and treatment are necessary. Especially when accompanied by abnormal symptoms such as vulvar itching and burning sensation, timely diagnosis and treatment should be sought.
