Older women should be careful about melasma

Melasma is a common pigmentation skin disease occurring on the face. Irregular menstruation, oral contraceptives, and excessive psychological stress may all induce chloasma.

Its characteristics are: symmetrical distribution on the face, especially on the cheeks, forehead, nose, lips and chin; the patches are brown, dark brown or light black, of varying sizes and shapes, isolated or fused into pieces, with clear boundaries, and generally butterfly-shaped. Chloasma can occur in both men and women, but is more common in women.

1. Not taking proper sun protection measures

When a large amount of ultraviolet rays directly radiate human skin, in order to prevent skin cells from being oxidized, the human body secretes a large amount of melanin to protect them, which leads to pigmentation and the formation of dark spots.

Ultraviolet radiation can activate tyrosinase activity, increase the proliferation and activity of melanocytes, accelerate melanin synthesis, and cause facial pigmentation.

Recommendation: People who are prone to melasma should try to reduce sun exposure or strengthen sun protection, such as using a parasol or applying sunscreen, and avoid exposure to the sun between 10 am and 4 pm (especially in summer).

2. Abuse of bad cosmetics

Some women use a lot of makeup for years. The harmful ingredients contained in cosmetics, such as preservatives, bactericides, metals, pigments and fragrances, can accumulate over a long period of time and lead to a series of skin diseases, chloasma being one of them. The consequences of long-term use of bad cosmetics are even more serious.

Recommendation: Women should wear less makeup or choose cosmetics containing natural or organic ingredients.

Ingredients: 100 grams of pear, 200 grams of sugar cane, 300 grams of grapes, and 100 grams of honey. Preparation: Wash the pears, sugar cane and grapes, blend the juice and remove the residue, mix with honey and bottle for later use. Take 10 ml each morning and evening, mixed with boiled water. It has the effect of clearing lung heat and nourishing the five internal organs. Suitable for facial grayness, dark spots and freckles.
