Brown discharge during early pregnancy

Brown discharge during early pregnancy

In the eyes of women, if their lower body secretes light brown secretions, they are often very afraid that it is caused by some kind of gynecological inflammation. Because many gynecological inflammations will cause women's lower body to secrete some foreign substances. Many women in the early stages of pregnancy will find that their lower body often secretes brown secretions. So is it normal to have light brown discharge in the early stages of pregnancy?

Is light brown discharge normal during early pregnancy?

1. Experts say that when there is brown discharge in the early stages of pregnancy, it will get better after a while. You need to be careful not to overwork and get more rest. There is no problem if the brown discharge is very light in color. If the color is darker, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up.

2. In addition, a blood HCG test should be done to confirm pregnancy. If you are indeed pregnant and have vaginal bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy, you need to go to the hospital for a vaginal B-ultrasound examination to determine whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy. If it is an intrauterine pregnancy, you also need to do a blood HCG and progesterone test to determine the hormone levels and fetal development. If it is an ectopic pregnancy, it is best to undergo electronic laparoscopic surgery to maximize the preservation of organ and functional integrity. You need to go to the hospital for examination to make a clear diagnosis and receive symptomatic treatment.

3. Generally speaking, if there is brown substance in vaginal secretions, it may be cervical erosion, irregular shedding of endometrium, etc. It cannot be confirmed whether it is threatened abortion. It is recommended that you go to the Maternal and Child Health Hospital for regular prenatal check-ups to ensure the normal health of the fetus.

4. If brown discharge appears intermittently, you should temporarily avoid sexual intercourse, otherwise there will be a risk of miscarriage. In the early stages of pregnancy, the fertilized egg (embryo) fails to implant in the uterus and is in the early stages of development. The placenta has not yet fully developed and the connection between the placenta and the uterine wall is not yet stable. If you have sexual intercourse at this time, the uterus will be vibrated, which can easily cause the placenta to fall off and cause miscarriage. If you engage in sexual intercourse at an early age, the prostaglandins contained in the semen may cause the uterus to contract and the cervix to relax, which, combined with the stimulation during sexual intercourse, may lead to miscarriage. Sexual activity should still be avoided during the first 10 weeks.

What changes occur in the fetus during early pregnancy

The fetus grows and develops very quickly in the mother's body. In the first 8 weeks of pregnancy, the fertilized egg develops from a single cell into a formed human body with 200 million cells. This period is called an embryo; after 8 weeks of pregnancy, it is called a fetus. At 6 weeks of pregnancy, the embryo's spine and brain begin to form, and the heart begins to beat. B-ultrasound can measure the activity of the embryo and heart. At this time, the pregnant woman may have early pregnancy reactions. After 7 weeks, limbs begin to form. After 8 weeks, the embryo has eyes but no face or external auditory canal; the embryo begins to move, but the pregnant woman cannot feel it yet. At 12 weeks, the fetus is about 7 cm long and weighs 20 grams. It has a human shape and its head appears larger than other parts of the body. The fetal heart rate can be heard using a Doppler stethoscope. The fundus of the uterus can be felt above the pubic symphysis through the abdomen.
