Is Huangqi Shengmai Yin suitable for women?

Astragalus is a relatively common Chinese medicinal material and is now also extracted into a pharmaceutical preparation. Because of the refined elements, combined with the Chinese medicinal materials, it can treat many diseases and is more convenient to use. For example, the main ingredients added to Huangqi Shengmai Drink are Codonopsis pilosula, Ophiopogon japonicus and Schisandra chinensis. Therapeutic Use

[Functions and indications] Huangqi Shengmai Drink is composed of astragalus, Codonopsis, Ophiopogon japonicus, Schisandra chinensis, and Schisandra chinensis chinensis. It is derived from the ancient prescription Shengmai San. It has the effects of invigorating Qi and nourishing Yin, nourishing the heart and tonifying the lungs. It is used for patients with coronary heart disease with deficiency of both Qi and Yin, palpitations and shortness of breath, and weakness in the elderly.

[Usage and Dosage] Oral administration, 10 ml at a time, 3 times a day.

Pharmacological Action

Shengmai San was first seen in Qianjin Yaofang written by Sun Simiao in the Tang Dynasty. It has the functions of invigorating qi and nourishing yin, astringing sweat and promoting body fluid, and has been widely used in clinical practice by doctors of all dynasties. In the past decade, hospitals across the country have used Shengmai Drink (including its injection) to treat coronary heart disease and myocardial infarction, and it has been observed that Shengmai Drink has the effects of strengthening the heart and improving peripheral blood circulation. Many experimental results show that Shengmai Drink has the function of regulating and promoting body activities and enhancing metabolism.

Astragalus is a leguminous plant, which contains a variety of amino acids, folic acid, carbohydrates, proteins, betaine, amylase, etc. It has the effects of strengthening the heart, enhancing heart contraction, dilating coronary blood vessels, and enhancing the body's immune ability. Shengmai Drink has a preventive effect on heart failure and inhibits platelet aggregation and release function. Huangqi Shengmai Drink has a significant effect of enhancing hypoxia tolerance, has a certain protective effect on myocardial ischemia and arrhythmia caused by posterior pituitary hormone in rats, and has the effect of promoting cellular immune function.

Astragalus is the main Qi-tonifying medicine in traditional Chinese medicine. It tastes sweet and is slightly warm in nature. It enters the spleen and lung meridians. According to modern pharmacological research, Astragalus contains polysaccharides, choline, saponins, amino acids, betaine, coumarin and flavonoids, which can enhance the body's resistance, dilate blood vessels (including coronary arteries, renal blood vessels, and peripheral blood vessels throughout the body); and enhance myocardial contractility (especially for a weak heart). To this end, we added Astragalus to Shengmai Drink, using Astragalus to replenish Qi, raise Yang, benefit Qi and strengthen the exterior, and developed it into Astragalus Shengmai Drink.

Drug Testing

[Identification] (1) Take 10 ml of this product, add 15 ml of n-butanol, shake, separate the n-butanol layer, wash twice with water, 5 ml each time, filter the n-butanol solution, evaporate the filtrate on a water bath, take a small amount of residue and put it in a test tube, add 1 ml of acetic anhydride to dissolve it, slowly add 1 ml of sulfuric acid along the wall of the tube, and a two-color ring with brown-purple on the upper side and brown-yellow on the lower side will appear at the junction of the two liquids.

(2) Take 5 ml of this product, dilute it with water to 250 ml, mix it, filter it, take 5 ml of the filtrate, dilute it with water to 25 ml, take another 5 ml of this dilution, dilute it with ethanol to 50 ml, and measure it by spectrophotometry (Appendix 51 of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia). The maximum absorption is at a wavelength of 280±3 nm.

[Inspection] The relative density should not be less than 1.11 (Appendix page 34 of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia).

The pH value should be between 3.5 and 5.5 (Appendix page 49 of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia).

Others should comply with the relevant provisions under the mixture (Appendix page 15 of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia).

[Content Determination] Accurately pipette 5 ml of this product and place it on a treated polystyrene benzenesulfonic acid ion exchange resin (hydrogen type) column (glass column, inner diameter of about 9 mm, wet column packing, column height 22 cm), and elute with 130 ml of water. The flow rate is controlled at about 2 ml per minute; combine the eluates, add 1 ml of 1% bromothymol blue ethanol solution as an indicator, and titrate with sodium hydroxide titrant (0.1 mol/L) until it turns green-blue. Each 1 ml of sodium hydroxide titration solution (0.1 mol/L) is equivalent to 6.040 mg of (C6H8O7).

This product contains not less than 6.0 mg of total organic acid per 1 ml, calculated as citric acid (C6H8O7).
