How many hours of sleep is reasonable for a pregnant woman?

After giving birth, you often need to take care of the baby, which may lead to poor sleep function and lack of sleep. It is common to have poor sleep after childbirth. Generally, I would like to introduce several common tips. The first is to create a comfortable environment for the child and let the child sleep longer. In this way, the mother can also sleep longer and avoid frequent waking up that affects the mother's sleep.

1. Sleep with your baby

In the first few months of your baby's life, you will need to feed every two to three hours. Therefore, it is important to take some time out to rest.

Put away the dirty clothes and dishes first: A nap is your essential rest time. Taking a nap early is much better than taking a nap at night, allowing you to wake up at 4 pm. This way you'll have more energy to get your child to sleep.

2. Get outside and exercise

Exercise keeps both you and your baby healthy and helps you get a good night's sleep. In addition, fresh air can also make new mothers energetic.

You can go out for a walk every morning between feeding your baby.

3. Bottles are a must-have

If you decide to breastfeed, which is great, ask your doctor if you should get a bottle (usually when your baby is four to five weeks old). That way, your husband or babysitter can feed the baby again at 3 a.m. while you're sleeping.

4. Create a quiet environment

This can be a bit of a hassle if you have to be on call 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Having a child requires you to be alert at all times, but excessive fatigue can also keep your adrenaline pumping, making it difficult to fall asleep even in a cool, dark room.

Try using an eye mask, a white noise machine, or soft music to help your baby drift off to sleep, especially if you're watching your baby late at night. If you keep your baby sleeping close to you in a bassinet or crib, you can get a good night's rest. This way, your baby can learn to self-soothe and you can sleep well.

Sleep will directly affect your mood and mental state. If you don’t sleep well, you will lack the energy to take care of your baby, and even affect your baby’s sleep and growth. If you feel good, you can cope better with your baby's daily needs and make better choices about nurturing methods that are beneficial to your child's development.
