Sleeping discomfort during pregnancy

Sleeping discomfort during pregnancy

Women usually experience different symptoms during pregnancy. For example, some people may feel nauseous and want to vomit, or feel uncomfortable in their stomach when they smell something irritating. These are all reactions to pregnancy and are relatively normal. However, when a woman is four months pregnant, her pregnancy will become noticeable. At this time, the belly is slowly growing, so it will affect women's sleep. What should I do if I feel uncomfortable sleeping during my fourth month of pregnancy?

Pregnant women may experience insomnia in the early stages of pregnancy. Don't worry, actively adjust your mentality, pay attention to a balanced diet, keep a happy mood, take a walk, listen to relaxing music, and help yourself sleep. If you suffer from insomnia for a long time, it will have a certain impact on your baby. If the psychological pressure is too great, it is recommended that you go to the psychiatric department of a regular hospital for psychological counseling in time. Prenatal check-ups should be carried out regularly to determine the development of the fetus.

Mitigation methods

1. Add pillows. Raising the pillow a little bit will help you sleep better. At the same time, you can also put a pillow under your waist to support your abdomen and back. Putting the pillow between your legs can bear some of the weight of your back and help you fall asleep.

2. Take a comfortable hot bath. Taking a hot bath before going to bed can fully relax the body and help sleep. Pregnant women should keep their feet warm in winter and soak their feet in hot water before going to bed, which can also improve sleep.

3. Do not exercise within 3-4 hours before going to bed. Exercise can excite the brain nerves and is not conducive to sleep. Therefore, pregnant women should not exercise before going to bed.

4. Relax. Maintaining a relaxed and happy mood during pregnancy is essential for the growth and development of your baby. Before going to bed, you can listen to some relaxing and soothing music to relax yourself. This is not only conducive to sleep, but also helpful for prenatal education.

5. Sleep less during the day. During pregnancy, many women feel mentally sleepy and physically tired both during the day and at night, so these women basically sleep during the day. If you sleep too much during the day, you will naturally be prone to insomnia at night, so you can do something else during the day to divert your attention, relieve sleepiness, and save more sleep for the night.
