What causes dizziness at 32 weeks of pregnancy?

We all know that when a woman reaches the 32nd week of pregnancy, she has reached the late stage of pregnancy. At this time, a lot of changes will occur in the woman's body, and some reactions of impending delivery will also appear. The most common is that the woman's lower body secretions will become more, and the woman may also feel intermittent abdominal pain. So what is the reason for dizziness in the 32nd week of pregnancy?

Early pregnancy reaction refers to a series of reactions in the early stages of pregnancy (about six weeks after menstruation), which occur due to an increase in human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the pregnant woman's body, a decrease in gastric acid secretion and a prolonged gastric emptying time, leading to dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, preference for sour food or aversion to greasy food, nausea, and vomiting in the morning. These symptoms generally do not require special treatment. After 12 weeks of pregnancy, as the HCG level in the body decreases, the symptoms will disappear naturally and appetite will return to normal.

It may be caused by cerebral ischemia, which refers to a disease in which various reasons lead to chronic and widespread blood supply deficiency in the brain, causing cerebral ischemia and hypoxia, resulting in a series of clinical manifestations of brain dysfunction. It is recommended to use vasodilator drugs for treatment and, if necessary, cerebral angiography.

Dizziness is a common symptom in pregnant women. In mild cases, the head feels heavy and the feet feel light-headed, and walking is unstable; in severe cases, the eyes become black and the patient suddenly faints. There are many reasons why pregnant women feel dizzy, often caused by a variety of diseases.

Insufficient blood supply and low blood pressure

Pregnant women often suffer from insufficient blood supply and cerebral ischemia. These pregnant women usually faint when they stand up suddenly or take the elevator. In the early and middle stages of pregnancy, blood pressure will drop to a certain extent due to the formation of the placenta. For pregnant women with pre-existing hypertension, the drop in blood pressure will be even greater. When blood pressure drops, blood flow to the brain will decrease, causing insufficient blood supply to the brain, cerebral ischemia and hypoxia, and thus causing dizziness. This temporary lack of blood supply to the brain usually returns to normal by the seventh month of pregnancy.

Eating too little and having low blood sugar

This type of pregnant women sometimes suffer from bouts of dizziness, accompanied by palpitations, fatigue, and cold sweats, which usually occur when they eat less. Eating less can cause low blood sugar levels, which can lead to physical discomfort. This type of pregnant woman should eat more milk, eggs and other foods for breakfast, and carry some milk candy with her. Once dizziness occurs, eating candy immediately can relieve the dizziness.

Improper body position compresses blood vessels

This type of pregnant woman usually experiences dizziness when she is lying on her back or sitting on the sofa watching TV. The dizziness of this type of pregnant women is caused by supine syndrome, which is caused by the enlarged uterus compressing the inferior vena cava in the late pregnancy, resulting in reduced blood supply to the heart and brain. Dizziness can be prevented by simply avoiding lying on your back or sitting in a semi-reclining position. If dizziness occurs, lie on your side immediately.

In addition, anemia is also a cause of dizziness in pregnant women. Pregnant women should usually consume iron-rich foods, such as animal blood, pork liver, lean meat, etc.
