What to do if a pregnant woman can't breathe

In life, many people pay more attention to the physical health of pregnant women, because pregnant women are a special group, so they pay more attention to it. At the same time, pregnant women are carrying babies in their bellies. They should not only consider their own bodies, but also the health of the babies. Pregnant women may have difficulty breathing due to compression of organs in the abdominal cavity in the late pregnancy. At this time, try to lie flat or on your side as much as possible to reduce the amount of body activity.

What to do if a pregnant woman has difficulty breathing

1. Supplement electrolytes and vitamin B6

In the early stages of pregnancy, expectant mothers are prone to severe morning sickness. At this time, they should properly supplement electrolyte fluids to avoid dehydration. Sometimes they can also consume vitamin B6 to slightly relieve these discomforts. Of course, you also need enough rest to allow your heart to adjust and reduce breathing difficulties.

2. Increase protein intake

Generally speaking, the most appropriate weight gain during the entire pregnancy is 12-15 kg. Gaining too much weight will only cause burden on the expectant mother's heart, compression on the spine and circulatory pressure. It is recommended that expectant mothers reduce their sugar intake and increase their protein intake, so that the weight gain will not result in puffiness or edema. In addition, you can also try to use red bean water to eliminate water vapor in the body, which is also a good method.

3. Reduce activity

Around 30 weeks of pregnancy, expectant mothers will experience psychogenic dyspnea. The only way to deal with it at this time is to reduce activity to allow the body to adapt. After a few weeks of wheezing, the condition gradually improved, but then she was about to face the pain of labor, which stimulated her heart and increased the burden on her heart, and the wheezing phenomenon reappeared.

4. Help oxygen absorption

To increase oxygen intake, pregnant mothers can go to places with better environments to take a walk and breathe fresh air; if necessary, go to the hospital to breathe oxygen.

Pregnant woman having trouble breathing while sleeping

In the later stages of pregnancy, more oxygen is needed for the fetus, and as the fetus grows, the chest cavity moves upward, so the pregnant mother will have difficulty exhaling and become uncomfortable. Especially when sleeping at night, the phenomenon of difficulty breathing is more obvious. If a pregnant woman has difficulty breathing while sleeping, it is best not to lie on her back or on her right side. In the late pregnancy, lying on her left side is more conducive to fetal development and sleep for the pregnant woman. If a pregnant woman has difficulty breathing and feels abnormal fetal movement, it is recommended that she go to the hospital regularly for fetal heart monitoring. If the fetal heart rate is abnormal, it means that the baby may be suffering from hypoxia and you need oxygen.

Will breathing difficulties during pregnancy affect the fetus?

During pregnancy, most pregnant women will experience breathing difficulties, increased breathing rate, rapid heartbeat, chest tightness and other phenomena, which are related to factors such as the rapid growth of the fetus in the body, increased oxygen demand, and the smaller chest cavity of the pregnant mother. If it is not caused by a high-risk pregnancy disease, the fetus does not show increased fetal movement, or the pregnant woman does not suffer from severe physical exhaustion, there is no need to worry too much. However, if a pregnant woman has severe breathing difficulties, she must seek medical attention immediately.

In the last few weeks of pregnancy, after the fetus descends into the pelvic cavity, the pregnant mother's breathing will become smoother. This wonderful change will allow the expectant mother to build up her physical strength again and prepare for delivery.
