Is it normal to delay your period by 8 to 9 days?

Is it normal for menstruation to be delayed by 8 days? Regarding this issue, relevant personnel said that under normal circumstances, it is necessary to pay attention to it, but if it is relatively regular most of the time, then there is no need to worry too much. It is normal for such a situation to occur sometimes. Is it normal to delay your period by 8 days?

It is normal for menstruation to be delayed or seven to eight days early. It is okay as long as it is relatively regular. It is okay if it is sometimes irregular. If it is often irregular, it is very likely caused by irregular menstruation.

The reasons for delayed menstruation include:

1. Pregnancy. In the menstrual period, 7 days after the menstrual period is delayed, you can use the "Early Pregnancy Test Strip" to test the urine. If it is positive, you may be pregnant. If the "Early Pregnancy Test Strip" is negative, the opposite is true. But if you are pregnant, you may also experience other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, breast pain, etc. Of course, the final method is to go to the hospital for a B-ultrasound examination.

2. The amplitude of the drug effect, for example, long-term use of emergency contraception can cause endocrine imbalance and lead to delayed menstruation. Based on the patient's symptoms, the doctor also found that the new generation of gastrokinetic drug metoclopramide, also known as domperidone, may also cause the disease. Because metoclopramide does not easily pass through the blood-brain barrier, it is believed to have no inhibitory effect on central nervous system dopamine receptors. The dopamine receptors in the nerve center are inhibited, resulting in a small amount of factors released by the hypothalamus-pituitary gland entering the anterior pituitary gland. Therefore, the secretion of gonadotropin and corticosteroids by the anterior pituitary gland decreases, causing amenorrhea and delayed ovulation.

3. Caused by surgical treatment, such as intrauterine surgery causing cervical adhesions and resulting in menstrual blood stasis, thereby delaying menstruation.

4. Others, such as psychological disorders such as anxiety, too much pressure, changes in the natural environment, and some diseases that affect the endocrine system. Can cause delayed menstruation.
