Vaginal pain during pregnancy

Vaginal pain during pregnancy

During pregnancy, many mothers not only suffer from psychological torment, but also have many physical problems. If pregnant mothers experience vaginal pain during pregnancy, the first thing to consider is whether it is caused by gynecological diseases. If you go to the hospital for a check-up and no inflammation is found, then it is most likely caused by varicose veins in the pubic area, so you don't need to worry too much.

What causes vaginal pain during pregnancy?

First of all, gynecological inflammation cannot be ruled out. In addition, some women feel swelling in the vulva and redness of the local skin a few months after pregnancy, and severe pain in the vulva when walking.

This phenomenon is clinically known as "varicose veins of the vulva".

The uterus of a pregnant woman shoulders a heavy responsibility and requires a large amount of blood supply, which increases the blood flow in the pelvic veins and internal iliac veins, causing the pressure in the veins to increase, causing the thin-walled veins in the vulva and inner thighs to expand abnormally.

In addition, as the fetus grows gradually, the uterus also grows accordingly in the pelvic cavity, which can easily compress the veins and hinder blood return, causing congestion and leading to varicose veins.

Furthermore, the concentration of estrogen in the blood increases rapidly during pregnancy, causing the venous walls to relax and resulting in varicose veins in the vulva.

What to do if you have vaginal pain during early pregnancy

If you experience vaginal pain during pregnancy, you should consider the possibility of gynecological inflammation. It is recommended that you take some safer anti-inflammatory drugs, such as amoxicillin and cefixime, and clean the vulva with diluted potassium permanganate solution. The above two drugs are safe for the fetus and can be used with confidence.

It is best to keep the vulva and vagina clean now, and be careful not to eat spicy food. This generally will not affect the fetus. Avoid sexual intercourse within 3 months before and after pregnancy to avoid miscarriage, premature birth and infection. Calcium and iron supplements are recommended during late pregnancy. Do a good pregnancy checkup.
