Will menstruation be delayed if ovulation is delayed?

Will menstruation be delayed if ovulation is delayed?

For normal women, the ovulation cycle is generally 28 days, but because many women's menstruation is not very regular, the ovulation period is not very accurate. Generally speaking, the menstrual period is 14 days after the ovulation period, but it is not entirely correct. Some women have different ovulation periods due to their different physical constitutions. Some special women ovulate one week after menstruation, or 20 days after menstruation. The specific situation requires going to the hospital for examination and following the doctor's examination results.

Question 1

Ovulation is delayed and menstruation is also delayed. A woman's ovulation date is generally around 11-14 days before the next menstrual period. Starting from the first day of the next menstrual period, counting down 14 days or subtracting 14 days is the ovulation day. The ovulation day and the 5 days before and 4 days after the ovulation day are called the ovulation period. Female ovulation is affected by endocrine hormones from the pituitary gland and ovaries and changes periodically. The length of the cycles of the two is the same, with one cycle per month, and ovulation occurs between two menstrual periods. Women's menstrual cycles vary in length, but the interval between ovulation and the start of the next menstruation is relatively fixed, usually around 14 days. Then, based on the relationship between ovulation and menstruation, you can calculate the ovulation day and ovulation period according to the menstrual cycle.

Question 2

An egg is a female's reproductive cell, produced one per month by one ovary. The egg must mature before it can be released from the ovary. The egg matures in a fluid-filled vesicle, and the image of a jellyfish is very appropriate to describe the egg. A woman releases about 400 eggs in her lifetime, and at most 500 eggs. The average survival time of an egg is 12 to 24 hours. There are also reports that an egg can survive for 36 hours, which should be a relatively "strong" egg.

The diameter of a mature egg can be 1 mm. As the largest cell in the human body, the egg plays a role in human reproduction. Before ovulation, the primary oocyte completes the first meiotic division to produce the secondary oocyte and the first polar body. The secondary oocyte then enters the second meiotic division and arrests at metaphase. Generally, ovulation occurs once every 28 to 35 days, with the two ovaries taking turns ovulating. Normal ovulation occurs on the 14th day before the next menstruation.
