My water broke but I don't feel any pain in my stomach

When the due date arrives, the expectant mother is quite anxious. She is happy but also a little worried. At this time, family members must give her more comfort. If the amniotic fluid breaks, it means the fetus is about to be born. Go to the hospital in time to prepare for delivery. If the amniotic fluid breaks, there will be no pain. At this time, induction of labor can be performed, which is also a good choice. Let’s take a look at this aspect.

1. What is the amniotic fluid breaking?

Water breaking actually refers to the rupture of the amniotic membrane and the flow of amniotic fluid from the lower body. The amniotic fluid is the living environment of the fetus in the mother's belly. It usually occurs before delivery. If water breaking occurs when the fetus is not yet full-term, it is early water breaking.

2. What to do if the amniotic fluid breaks and the stomach does not hurt

1. Inducement

If the amniotic fluid breaks, you need to go to the hospital to give birth, and abdominal pain will accompany it. You should know that ruptured membranes may lead to infection of the uterine cavity or fetal hypoxia. Generally, the breaking of amniotic fluid will cause uterine contraction. If the fetus is mature and there is no contraction 24 hours after the breaking of water, that is, there is no abdominal pain, the doctor will help the mother to arrange for induction of labor.

What you need to know is: labor will occur within 24 hours after water breaking, antibiotics will be used to prevent infection after 12 hours, and if there are no uterine contractions after 24 hours, the doctor will use an injection to induce labor. The injection can be used for 3 days, and if the baby is not born after 3 days, a caesarean section will be performed.

2. Precautions after water breaking

① If the amniotic fluid breaks prematurely, in order to prevent the fetal umbilical cord from prolapse, lie down immediately and raise the buttocks.

② The mother should place a clean sanitary napkin on the vulva and make sure it is kept clean.

③Once water breaks, regardless of whether the pregnant woman has reached her due date or has uterine contractions, she must rush to the hospital for treatment immediately. Even on the way to the hospital, you need to lie down with your hips elevated.

If the amniotic fluid breaks, the pregnant mother needs to adjust her mood and posture in time. If the amniotic fluid breaks but the stomach does not hurt, do not simply think that the baby will not be born immediately if the stomach does not hurt. It is better to go to the hospital for a check-up!
