Normal amount of progesterone in IVF

Normal amount of progesterone in IVF

As we all know, nowadays with the deterioration of the environment and the increase of people's pressure, many young people have suffered from infertility, which is very common. Technology has also developed, and in vitro fertilization has appeared. The cost of in vitro fertilization is relatively high. So, what is the normal progesterone value during in vitro fertilization pregnancy?

What is the normal progesterone level during IVF pregnancy?

In Chinese folk customs, "in vitro fertilization and in vitro transplantation" (IVF-ET) is often referred to as "test tube baby". In fact, in vitro fertilization is a special technology that takes the egg cells and sperm out of the body, allows them to combine in an artificial environment outside the body, and then transplants the early test tube into the woman's uterus to create a child in the uterus. Babies created using in vitro fertilization technology are called test-tube babies, and these children also grow in the mother's uterus. It can be said that "IVF technology" is equivalent to "IVF".

3. Technology of biological diagnosis of in vitro fertilization cells before embryo implantation.

Progesterone value

Normal progesterone values:

HCG (IU/L) in weeks of pregnancy

0.2-1 week 5-50

1-2 weeks 50-500

2-3 weeks 100-5000

3-4 weeks 500-10000

4-5 weeks 1000-50000

5-6 weeks 10,000-100,000

6-8 weeks 15,000-200,000

February-March 10,000-100,000

In vitro fertilization requires a total of four steps, from the initial ovulation induction to the final confirmation of pregnancy.

1. Ovarian stimulation therapy

When a couple who are preparing to have a baby are preparing to do IVF, the woman needs to undergo ovulation induction treatment first. This is because not every egg cell can be fertilized, and not every sperm-egg combination can grow into a viable test tube embryo. Therefore, it is necessary to obtain multiple eggs from the female body to ensure that there are test tube embryos that can be transplanted, which requires ovulation induction treatment for women.

The specific method is that on the second day of the menstrual cycle, or when the reproductive hormone and ovarian ultrasound examination results meet the requirements, women start using ovulation-inducing drugs. The doctor will judge the development of the eggs based on the results of ultrasound examination and blood cell growth hormone measurement and decide whether to adjust the dosage of ovulation-inducing drugs. When the egg is mature, hCG injection is given to promote the final maturity of the egg cell. Usually, the egg retrieval for IVF is done 36-38 hours after the hCG injection.

2. Egg retrieval for IVF

Under the guidance of B-ultrasound, the doctor uses a special egg retrieval needle to perform vaginal puncture to remove the perfect egg and suck out the egg cell. Egg retrieval for IVF is usually performed under intravenous anesthesia, so women do not feel the pain caused by the puncture process.

3. In vitro fertilization

Obtaining male sperm: When the woman is retrieving eggs for IVF, the man is retrieving sperm. After the sperm has gone through a special cleaning process, the sperm and egg are placed in a special culture medium in order to achieve natural fusion. This is the basic insemination method in plain terms.

4. Test tube transplantation

A few days after insemination, a thin test tube transfer tube is used to transfer the best test tube embryos into the pregnant mother's uterus through the cervix. The number of test tube embryos to be transferred is determined based on age, test tube embryo quality and previous IVF results. Generally, 2-3 test tube embryos are transferred. In recent years, in order to reduce the rate of multiple pregnancy, some centers have chosen single test tube transfer, or transplanted up to two test tube embryos. Since the IVF tubes are thin and the doctors are gentle, patients generally do not feel any pain.
