If the amount of bleeding is heavy, it can also cause anemia in the patient and may lead to infertility. If the uterine fibroids are very serious, surgery is required to remove them. So what should the patient eat after the operation?

What to eat after myomectomy?

If uterine fibroid surgery is necessary because the fibroid is large or bleeding is frequent, causing excessive bleeding, you must wait until the anus is exhausted before eating.

In order to recover quickly after uterine fibroid surgery, it is not advisable to eat too early. For those undergoing non-gastrointestinal surgery, it is generally 6 hours after the operation. Patients with uterine fibroids should eat nutritious and easily digestible foods, and also consume more foods containing protein, vitamins and iron, such as fish soup, grapes, cherries, vegetables, etc. But you should eat less nutritious supplements, as that is not good.

On the first day, you should eat a completely clear diet. You can eat some porridge oil (the skin of millet or rice porridge), lotus root powder, almond juice, etc., 6 to 8 meals a day. Don’t give your baby foods that can easily cause bloating, such as soy milk or milk.

On the 2nd to 3rd day, you can adopt a full-flow diet. You can add some nutritional powder (such as protein powder, complete nutritional powder, etc.) to the porridge oil. You can also eat some thick rice soup, sieved chicken soup, egg drop soup, rice soup with eggs, etc. On the 3rd to 4th day, you can transition to a thick liquid diet, such as rice porridge, tofu brain, beef soup, egg custard, and vegetable puree. You can add some meat floss, minced meat, etc.

One week after the operation, you can gradually change to semi-liquid food, starting from chicken noodle soup with egg, pork rib soup with thin noodles with egg, vegetable juice stewed noodles, and small wontons, and gradually transition to soft rice or ordinary rice. It is best to use small meals and multiple meals to increase nutritional intake.

The diet of patients with uterine fibroids should not be too refined. Most people's diet is mainly high in protein and calories, and they ignore the intake of vitamins. The body's repair requires various nutrients, especially crude fiber foods, which help enhance gastrointestinal motility and prevent some complications caused by bed rest after surgery.
