Thyroid nodules are a relatively common disease at present. After the appearance of thyroid nodules, patients can diagnose the disease and the current state of the disease through thyroid B-ultrasound examination, thyroid radionuclide scanning, and neck X-ray examination. In addition, although thyroid nodules will not affect menstruation, they will pose a certain threat to the patient's health. Therefore, patients should prevent complications and diagnose and treat the disease as early as possible. Disease diagnosis Thyroid B-ultrasound examination The nodules can be shown to be solid, cystic or mixed lesions. A single solid nodule has a higher possibility of being malignant, and a mixed nodule also has the possibility of being malignant. A simple cystic nodule has a lower chance of being malignant. Thyroid scan Nodules are divided into "hot nodules" and "cold nodules" according to their ability to absorb radionuclides. "Hot nodules" are functionally autonomous thyroid nodules and are almost always benign. "Cold nodules" may be cancerous, but multiple "cold nodules" are mostly benign adenomas or nodules. In addition, if there is bleeding or cystic changes in the nodules, it may also manifest as "cold nodules". Neck X-ray Small or sand-like calcifications on nodules may be sand bodies of papillary carcinoma. Large, irregular calcifications may be seen in degenerative nodular goiters or thyroid cancer. If infiltration or deformation is seen in the tracheal image, it indicates a malignant lesion. Thyroid fine needle aspiration cytology The examination is simple and safe, and is very helpful in distinguishing benign from malignant nodules. Thyroid function tests Functionally autonomous toxic nodules are mostly caused by hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism may also occur in the early stages of subacute thyroiditis. The thyroid function of chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis may be normal, hyperactive, or hypoactive. Thyroid nodules caused by other lesions mostly have normal functions. Inspection method Examination of thyroid nodules generally includes thyroid B-ultrasound examination, thyroid radionuclide scanning, neck X-ray examination, thyroid fine needle aspiration cytology examination, thyroid function test, etc. complication If thyroid nodules are not treated promptly or are treated improperly, they may cause serious complications such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, renal tubular acidosis, and liver disease. |
