Can I do an ultrasound during my menstruation?

Can I do an ultrasound during my menstruation?

Menstruation is the most familiar physical condition for women. It will come on time every month as long as there is no pregnancy. Although menstruation can bring a lot of inconvenience to women's lives, the reason it exists is to bring many benefits to women's bodies and help them expel dirt and toxins. However, many people in life are prone to misunderstandings about menstruation. So, can we do B-ultrasound during menstruation?

If necessary, you can do an ultrasound examination during menstruation. There is no problem. Doing an ultrasound during this period will not be affected by the epidemic.

Myth 1:

You cannot get pregnant during your period.

Dr. Carroll said that although it is unlikely that women will get pregnant if they have sex during their menstrual period, nothing is absolutely impossible for pregnancy. Since sperm can survive for up to a week after entering the female body, fertilization can be achieved once it encounters an egg. For some women, ovulation happens to coincide with their menstrual period, so the possibility of pregnancy is very high. It can be seen from this that safe period contraception is not necessarily absolutely safe.

Myth 2:

Antibiotics make birth control pills unreliable.

Dr. Aaron Carroll, an expert at Indiana State University, said that many doctors believe that antibiotics can make birth control pills ineffective. In fact, the probability of birth control pills failing is only about 1%, and even if taken at the same time as a large amount of antibiotics, this probability of birth control pills failing will not be affected.

Myth 3:

Women and men need the same amount of sleep.

In 2008, a study involving 210 participants led by Dr. Edward Suarez, an expert at Duke University in the United States, found that compared with men, women are more likely to have sleep problems such as tossing and turning, insomnia and dreaming, which in turn lead to more psychological problems.

Myth 4:

Menopause causes women's sexual desire to plummet.

Some postmenopausal women do experience uncomfortable symptoms such as hot flashes, but this does not mean that menopause necessarily leads to sexual abstinence. In 1994, a large-scale comprehensive study led by Dr. Edward Lauman found that about half of women over 50 still have sex several times a month.

Myth 5:

Doctors can determine whether a woman is a virgin.

Several studies have found that even with technology that magnifies 10 times, it is difficult for doctors to distinguish between virgins and sexually active women. Determining whether a woman is a virgin is not that simple, because there is a hole in the hymen. If the hymen is completely closed, menstrual blood will inevitably be unable to be discharged, leading to serious gynecological diseases.
