Uterine cyst is not a professional term related to obstetrics and gynecology. The uterine cyst commonly referred to refers to cervical cyst, which is a type of chronic cervicitis and a common gynecological disease. Women suffering from cervical cysts mainly experience increased vaginal discharge, which is mucopurulent. The irritation of vaginal discharge can cause vulvar itching and burning sensation, and may also experience symptoms such as mid-menstrual bleeding and bleeding after sexual intercourse. Causes of uterine cysts Cervical cyst is a pathological manifestation of chronic cervicitis. During the recovery process of cervical erosion, the neonatal squamous epithelium covers the cervical gland branches or extends into the glands, blocking the gland branches. The connective tissue hyperplasia or scarring around the gland compresses the gland, causing the gland duct to become smaller or even blocked. The drainage of glandular duct secretions is blocked and retained, forming a cyst called cervical nabothian cyst. The cysts vary in size, but are generally small and dispersed. It can appear independently or in pairs. In the case of introverted cervicitis, the cervical gland ducts and surrounding tissues proliferate. When the gland is squeezed and shaped by the surrounding tissues, the glandular opening is blocked, so that the secretions in the glandular duct cannot flow out but are retained inside, causing the glandular cavity to expand and produce cystic masses of varying sizes, which are called "cervical glandular storage cysts", also known as Nagalian cysts. Clinical symptoms of uterine cysts Cervical cyst is a type of chronic cervicitis, which generally has no obvious symptoms. The clinical symptom of chronic cervicitis is excessive leucorrhea. Due to the different bacteria, the color and amount of leucorrhea are also different. The discharge may be mucous or pus-like, sometimes containing blood or small amounts of blood, and there may also be irregular bleeding. There is often pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral area, and there may be a downward pain or menstrual pain in the pelvis, which is often aggravated during menstruation, defecation or sexual intercourse. In addition, irregular menstruation and infertility may occur. Uterine cyst examination Cervical cysts vary in size, but are generally small and dispersed. It can appear independently or in pairs. Can occur in any part of the cervix. Because during gynecological examination, the speculum can only be used to detect cysts located at the external os of the cervix. B-ultrasound examination: B-ultrasound can display cysts in any part of the cervix, and its cyst diagnosis rate can reach 100%. Therefore, B-ultrasound examination improves the clinical diagnosis rate and also provides convenience for clinical treatment. Uterine cyst diagnosis In addition to clinical symptoms, clinical features and B-ultrasound examination results, pathological histological examination is the basis for diagnosis. Uterine cyst treatment The main thing is that cervical acid-fast staining examination must be done every year to detect cervical cancer and early cancer diseases. 1. Scattered and smaller cervical cysts generally do not require treatment, and only require annual examinations. 2. For clustered smaller Nabothian cysts or larger cysts, phototherapy, laser, microwave heating, and other physical therapies can be considered. |
