The whole process of IUD removal surgery

The whole process of IUD removal surgery

Many women do not want to get pregnant again after they have given birth, so they take certain contraceptive measures. Wearing an IUD is one of the contraceptive methods, but this type of IUD has certain side effects. For example, some women may not be able to adapt to it, so the IUD needs to be removed after wearing it for a period of time. The removal process is also relatively complicated and requires attention to many issues. What should I pay attention to during the whole process of IUD removal surgery?

Why do you need to remove the ring?

The IUD is not permanent. If a woman does not remove it after a certain period of time, it will have a great impact on her body. So when mothers wear the ring, they must ask clearly when to remove the ring and how long to wear it!

How long does it take to remove the ring?

Under normal circumstances, a little more than half an hour is enough, but some women's physical condition is not very good, so it will be delayed to an hour. It depends on how the doctor handles it!

IUD removal surgery process

1. Disinfection

The doctor will use fixed medical equipment to open the vagina and then clean the vaginal secretions. When the cervix is seen, the doctor will disinfect it with iodine, alcohol and other substances.

2. Removal of the IUD

First, clamp the cervical lips with a cervical forceps, then use the probe to slowly extend it inside. After reaching the fundus of the uterus, gently retreat one centimeter so that you can find the position of the IUD. Then the doctor will gently clamp the IUD and shake it slowly to separate the IUD from the body, ensuring that the woman's pain is minimized!

3. Aftercare

After the IUD is taken out, the doctor will use a professional scraper to clean the residual material near the uterine wall, measure the length of the uterine cavity, determine whether the woman's uterine contraction frequency is normal, and then slowly take out the cervical clamp. If bleeding is found, the doctor will also determine how to stop the bleeding according to the situation. Generally, gauze is used to press for a while!

Things to note after surgery

1. Women are relatively weak after having their IUD removed, so it is not recommended to have sexual intercourse within two weeks.

2. Pay attention to the hygiene of your private parts. It is best to wash them with warm water every day. If women want to take a bath, try to take a shower. Prevent infection or inflammation caused by sitting or lying down.

3. Avoid spicy, raw, and cold foods, and eat less sour foods. Because the irritation of these foods is not conducive to wound healing and will have a negative impact!

Many women think that IUD insertion is a permanent contraceptive method, but they don’t realize that it is the most harmful to the female body. Some women develop gynecological diseases due to wearing IUDs for a long time. Therefore, if mothers want to have an IUD, they should fully consider their physical condition and have the IUD done under the doctor's advice.
