It is well known that the prostate is a physiological organ unique to men, and it plays a decisive role in the level of men's new functions. Therefore, most men attach great importance to prostate health. However, with the development of modern anatomical medicine, scientists have discovered that women also have prostates, but they are much more degraded than men. Let's take a look at where the prostate is located in women. The female prostate refers to the female periurethral gland that is similar in structure to the prostate. These glands are mostly concentrated in the posterior and superior part of the female urethra. About 92% of women have this tissue, of which about 25% may be true prostates. The female prostate has very powerful functions. In 1944, German obstetrician and gynecologist Grafeaburg first reported that there was a sexually sensitive area in the middle of the anterior wall of the vagina. In 1950, he again proposed that there was an erectile tissue similar to the corpus cavernosum of the penis in this area. After sexual stimulation, it would swell and obviously bulge into the vagina. When orgasm is reached, urethral ejaculation may occur, similar to male ejaculation. Later it was confirmed that the ejaculated fluid came from the female prostate, which contained PAP, fructose and PSA, which is different from urine. The female urethra also has glands equivalent to the male prostate in the posterior part. These glands are homologous to the male prostate during the embryonic period and are also influenced and controlled by endocrine system. When chronic inflammation or nodular tumor hyperplasia occurs, leading to stenosis or even obstruction of the bladder neck, a series of symptoms will occur, mainly discomfort in urination. Female prostatic obstructive syndrome is more common in middle-aged and elderly women over 40 years old. The course of the disease is generally long. In the early stage, there may be symptoms such as difficulty urinating, thin urine stream, and weak urine force. Later, urinary urgency, frequent urination, pain, difficulty urinating or a foreign body sensation in the urethra will gradually appear. A small number of patients even experience hematuria or urinary retention, which can cause hydronephrosis and affect renal function. Most patients will develop persistent urinary tract infections that are resistant to various antibiotics.Because the symptoms are similar and antibiotics do have a certain effect on the disease, it is often misdiagnosed as a urinary tract infection. Some are even diagnosed as sexually transmitted diseases or urogenital tumors. The disease can be diagnosed by vaginal palpation of the bladder neck, cystoscopy, X-ray retrograde cystography, and pathological examination. |
