Can I get pregnant with intrauterine adhesions?

In life, many female friends have some gynecological diseases. Some women's gynecological diseases are even serious enough to affect pregnancy, such as uterine adhesion. This gynecological disease will not only cause abnormal menstruation in women, but also make them feel very painful when menstruation comes, and it is particularly difficult to conceive. Even if they are pregnant, there is a certain risk during childbirth. So, is it possible to get pregnant with uterine adhesion?

Clinical manifestations of intrauterine adhesions

Menstrual abnormalities

The main manifestations of menstrual abnormalities are decreased menstruation or amenorrhea after curettage.

stomach ache

Some patients may also experience periodic lower abdominal pain, which may be related to adhesions of the cervical canal or the internal os of the uterus, poor drainage of menstrual blood, and reflex stimulation of uterine contractions, leading to lower abdominal pain.

Fertility disorders

The main manifestations are infertility or habitual miscarriage. According to statistics, about 50% of patients with intrauterine adhesions have a history of secondary infertility or habitual abortion. It has also been reported that the detection rate of intrauterine adhesions in infertile patients is 20%.

Uterine pain with slight pressure

If there is no intrauterine blood accumulation in other intrauterine adhesions, there will be no abnormal signs during physical examination. However, if there is hematogenous uterus, physical examination may reveal that the uterus is enlarged and full, with mild tenderness, and sometimes cervical lifting pain. Ultrasound examination showed that the endometrial lines in the uterine cavity were interrupted, the endometrium was thin, and there might be liquid dark areas in the uterine cavity.

Does intrauterine adhesion affect pregnancy ?

Intrauterine adhesion is a minor operation, not a major operation, and the success rate is very high. However, it should be noted that if the recovery is not good, it is easy to relapse. Whether pregnancy can be achieved depends on the patient's recovery degree. After recovery, the patient needs to prevent reinfection.

Generally speaking, after completing hysteroscopic treatment, pregnancy can be achieved normally after one menstrual cycle. This disease will not affect pregnancy after it is cured. However, some doctors suggest waiting for half a year after recovery when the condition stabilizes before considering pregnancy.
