Pregnant woman eats worms in bayberry

Bayberry is a common fruit in our daily life. The flesh of bayberry is relatively dense, so it is inevitable that there will be small insects inside, and this is also a relatively normal thing. If you are really worried, you can soak it in salt water for a while before eating, and the small insects inside will be cleaned out. In fact, this kind of small insect is different from parasites. It has little impact on the body and there is no infection. It is okay even if pregnant women eat it, so there is no need to worry.

It is very normal to have worms in bayberry (which just means that no pesticides exceeding the toxic limit have been used). You can soak it in salt water of a certain concentration before eating it, and the worms inside will come out. Then wash it clean before eating. Or, just turn a blind eye and ignore it.

Although pregnant women are a special group, they do not need to survive in a vacuum. When eating raw fruits and vegetables, you only need to clean the surface.

The small white bugs inside the bayberry are actually the larvae of fruit flies. Fruit flies usually feed on honey, fruits, etc. and are relatively clean. During its breeding season, it will be attracted by the smell of bayberry and lay eggs on the surface of bayberry. After its eggs hatch and become larvae, they will drill into the flesh and feed on it. If it grows naturally, the larvae will not fly away until they mature and turn into fruit flies.

【data】

On average, there are 1-5 worms in each bayberry.

People who often eat bayberry know that if bayberry is left for a period of time, many white worms will crawl out. Moreover, the longer the bayberry is left, the more insects there will be.

The Yangmei research group of Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences once conducted an experiment on counting insects. They put the bayberries collected from various locations in sample bags and placed them under certain temperature and humidity conditions for two days. Then they counted the number of white worms that crawled out of the bayberry fruits. The results were ranked from most to least:

One pound of bayberry near domestic garbage: more than 300

The number of bayberries picked up after falling to the ground: more than 100

One pound of common bayberry in an orchard: 30-90

One pound of bayberry with effective insect-proof nets and other physical protection: 10-60

One pound of frozen common orchard bayberry: 5-20

On average, 1-5 worms will crawl out of a normal bayberry after two days (excluding unhatched eggs).

The results of this experiment are probably enough to make many people feel dizzy.

On average, there are 1-5 small white insects in each bayberry.

These insects can be eaten safely and can also improve immunity
