Many people often find white stuff in the uterus when doing a uterine examination. In this case, it depends on whether it grows on the inside of the uterus or is in liquid form. If it is liquid, it can be considered normal leucorrhea, but if it grows inside the uterus, it is uterine leukoplakia, which may be related to endocrine disorders, local irritation, and inflammatory infection. Pathological etiology The cause of cervical leukoplakia is still unclear, but it may be related to the following factors: 1. Endocrine disorders: Increased estrogen levels in the body lead to abnormal keratinization of the cervical epithelium. (ii) Local irritation: such as chronic cervicitis, the influence of vaginal trichomoniasis, etc. In a clinical analysis of 700 cases of cervical erosion biopsy pathology, Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences found 37 cases of cervical leukoplakia, accounting for 5.2%. It can be seen that the incidence rate has increased significantly in cases of chronic cervicitis. (III) Other factors: According to literature reports, cervical leukoplakia occasionally coexists with atypical hyperplasia, carcinoma in situ or early invasive cancer. It is believed that the occurrence of cervical leukoplakia may be related to the carcinogenic factors of cervical cancer. Disease diagnosis It can be differentiated from early cervical cancer by tissue biopsy. Inspection method (1) Iodine test: Since epithelial keratinization or non-keratinization lacks the ability to store glycogen, the iodine-applied area will not be stained, so the extent of the lesion can be revealed. However, the iodine test is non-specific, and the test result will also be positive if there is cervical erosion, ectropion or precancerous lesions. (2) Colposcopy: Using a colposcope to magnify cervical lesions is obviously much easier than observing with the naked eye to find cervical leukoplakia. Shanghai Second Medical University once performed colposcopy on 1,000 cases and found 79 cases of cervical leukoplakia, accounting for 7.9%. complication Combined with cervical erosion or endocervical ectropion. |
