Pregnant women should not eat those things

Pregnant women need to pay great attention to their diet during pregnancy, because if they accidentally eat foods that affect the development of the child, it will cause various problems in the fetus and even cause miscarriage in pregnant women. Therefore, pregnant mothers must have a detailed understanding of some foods that cannot be eaten during pregnancy, and resolutely avoid these foods during pregnancy to ensure their own health and the safety of the child. So, what are the things that pregnant women should not eat during pregnancy?

1. Raw beans:

Beans such as green beans, lentils, red kidney beans, and white kidney beans can cause poisoning if they are eaten raw or not heated thoroughly.

2. Raw soy milk:

Raw soybeans contain toxic ingredients and consuming uncooked soy milk can cause food poisoning.

3. Cassava

The roots, stems and leaves of cassava contain toxic substances. Eating raw or undercooked cassava or drinking its soup can cause poisoning. The toxins can cause nerve paralysis and even permanent paralysis.

4. Sprouted potatoes:

The toxin solanine in the sprouting part of potato is dozens to hundreds of times higher than that in the fleshy part. Once ingested by mistake, it can cause mild impaired consciousness and difficulty breathing. In severe cases, the patient may die from heart failure and paralysis of the respiratory center.

5. Fresh daylily:

Daylily contains colchicine, a toxin that can cause poisoning symptoms such as dry throat, burning sensation in the stomach, and hematuria. Before eating, you need to cook the daylily thoroughly, then blanch it in boiling water and then cook it for consumption.

6. Green tomatoes:

Green tomatoes contain the toxic substance solanine. Eating these unripe green tomatoes will cause a bitter feeling in the mouth and may lead to poisoning symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. It is even more dangerous to eat them raw.

7. Rotten ginger:

Rotten ginger produces a highly toxic compound called safrole. If people consume this toxin, even in small amounts, it can cause liver cell poisoning and degeneration.

8. Raw bamboo shoots:

Fresh bamboo shoots contain the natural toxin cyanogenic glycoside. Eating raw or undercooked bamboo shoots may also cause food poisoning.

If a pregnant woman is hesitant about a certain food she really wants to eat, she may wish to consult a doctor and ask a specialist to determine whether and how often she can eat this food based on her own condition. It should be noted that some foods are not suitable for some pregnant women to consume in excess due to their effects. For example, crabs, barley, etc. If a healthy pregnant woman eats a small amount of the following foods during pregnancy, there is no need to worry too much, as it is generally not a big deal.
