Why does my lower abdomen hurt after sex?

Sexual intercourse should be an act that can bring pleasure to both parties, so whether during or after sexual intercourse, people should be in a relatively relaxed state. However, many people will experience lower abdominal pain after sexual intercourse. This is either caused by some physiological factors, such as the female's uterine structure, semen allergy, etc., or by some pathological reasons, such as gynecological inflammation, corpus luteum rupture, etc.

(1) Female physiological structure:

The bottom of the female urethra and bladder are very close to the vagina, and the pelvic organs such as the uterus and its accessories are even closer to the vagina. These female organs are easily stimulated by external pressure and biological factors. During sexual intercourse, the male's penis twitches violently, which can cause strong stimulation to the female's vagina, abdominal cavity, and pelvic organs, causing the female to breathe rapidly and her entire body to contract involuntarily, especially during orgasm. This phenomenon is more obvious. In fact, this process will also cause pain, but because the attention is not on the pain, the pain is not felt obviously, and the lower abdominal pain is felt after intercourse. However, for most women, the pain will be relieved on its own shortly after the end of sexual intercourse.

(2) The man uses excessive force and squeezes during sexual intercourse:

During sexual intercourse, if the man uses too much force, or the squeezing intensity is too high, or the body position is incorrect, it may easily increase the woman's abdominal cavity pressure, affect intestinal movement, and squeeze the uterus, rectum, and bladder by gravity. Sometimes reverse peristalsis may occur, which manifests as paroxysmal abdominal pain.

Some couples do not keep warm after having sex. Because they often feel hot during sex, they like to turn on the air conditioner or blow a fan to cool down after having sex. For women, paroxysmal lower abdominal pain is easy to occur if the lower abdomen gets cold.

(4) Abdominal pain caused by semen allergy :

Some women are allergic to semen. If they do not take proper contraceptive measures during intercourse, semen enters the female body and may induce lower abdominal pain during intercourse, or other allergic symptoms such as vomiting and migratory joint pain.

(1) Gynecological inflammation:

Lower abdominal pain after intercourse may be caused by gynecological inflammation, such as cervicitis, adnexitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc. Under the stimulation of sexual intercourse, it is easy to cause the female's uterine cervix to contract during orgasm. Sometimes because the man's movements are too violent, the penis is pumping too fast and with too much amplitude, or because the penis is inserted too deeply, the penis hits the diseased area and causes lower abdominal pain, and sometimes a small amount of vaginal bleeding. This type of lower abdominal pain lasts for a long time and does not disappear when sexual intercourse ends.

(2) Corpus luteum rupture :

If lower abdominal pain occurs suddenly and is severe during intercourse, it may be caused by a ruptured corpus luteum. During sexual intercourse, if the mature follicles and corpus luteum are squeezed and vibrated, sudden severe pain and abdominal bleeding may occur.
