What is leucorrhea flaky discharge

There are always some women in life who suffer from gynecological diseases. These women's gynecological diseases manifest in all aspects and will always trouble women's health. Many women's gynecological diseases will manifest in leucorrhea. The leucorrhea secreted from the lower body will have some flaky secretions and will be accompanied by some odors. So what are the flaky leucorrhea secretions? Let me introduce to you

The amount and texture of leucorrhea are affected by the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body, and vary cyclically with the menstrual cycle, with varying amounts, textures and thicknesses. If your vaginal discharge has no odor and you do not feel any obvious discomfort, it may be normal. If you are worried, you can also go to the hospital for a routine leucorrhea examination to confirm the situation.

Leucorrhea is not necessarily a prominent symptom of vaginitis, but watery leucorrhea can range from curd-like to ointment-like. Some are completely thin, like clear serous exudate, but often contain white flakes; others are thick, like curd or crumbs. There are often two distinct clinical manifestations. About half of the patients have a large amount of watery or purulent leucorrhea without white flakes, and the vaginal mucosa is moderately red and edematous, without severe itching or burning, only a feeling of moisture in the vulva. Another type of patient has typical curd-like or flaky, sticky vaginal discharge, highly red and swollen vaginal mucosa, with white flaky films (such as thrush) attached that are easy to peel off; underneath is an eroded base of damaged mucosa or shallow ulcers. In severe cases, ecchymosis may be left behind, with severe itching and burning sensation. During pregnancy, the itching symptoms of candidal vaginitis are more severe.

The vagina has its own defense capabilities and inhibitory effects on vaginal Clostridium difficile. About 10% of women and 30% of pregnant women are carriers of fungi, but they do not have any clinical symptoms. Because Candida albicans grows best in a vaginal environment with a pH value of about 5.5, and under normal conditions of vaginal Clostridium difficile, the pH value of the vagina is between 4 and 4.5, and fungi cannot reproduce even if they exist. Using alkaline disinfectants such as 3% sodium bicarbonate solution to wash the vagina, or keeping the pH value above 5.5 during menstruation can alleviate fungal vaginitis.
