Why is there continuous bleeding after biochemical treatment?

Biochemical pregnancy is a type of spontaneous abortion, which means that the sperm and egg combine but fail to successfully implant. There are many reasons that lead to biochemical pregnancy, such as insufficient hormones in the body, poor development of the fertilized egg, or uterine fibroids in the mother, all of which may cause biochemical pregnancy. If there is continuous bleeding after a biochemical pregnancy, active treatment must be carried out!

1. What is biochemical pregnancy

Biochemical pregnancy refers to the combination of sperm and egg. Generally, human chorionic gonadotropin will be secreted seven days after the combination of sperm and egg. After another seven days, it can be detected with an early pregnancy test. Often the sperm and egg have combined and secreted, but they must combine to form a fertilized egg, and the fertilized egg must return to the uterus to implant. Biochemical pregnancy means that the sperm and egg have combined, but have not returned to the uterus to implant, or have returned but not implanted. This is called biochemical pregnancy.

2. Causes and duration of bleeding after biochemical pregnancy

The cause of biochemical pregnancy may be insufficient hormone levels in the body, or the fertilized egg itself is not well developed. It may also be caused by factors such as uterine fibroids, polyps or poor development.

The bleeding is generally the same as the menstrual cycle and will stop in about 7 days. If it is not clean, you should first go to the hospital for a B-ultrasound examination to see if there is any residue in the uterus. If so, a uterine cleaning is needed.

3. What to do if bleeding does not stop after biochemical pregnancy

If there is no residue, you can take some medicine to promote uterine contraction, such as Shenghua Tang Pills, Motherwort Shock, etc. You can also ask a Chinese medicine doctor to prescribe some blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing medicine.

If the bleeding time is longer, more than 10 days, you need to take some anti-inflammatory drugs at the same time. Prevent prolonged bleeding and endometrial infection.

In addition, you should test the chorionic villus and gonadal hormones and observe dynamically to see whether its value is gradually decreasing. If it drops it is normal. If it does not decrease or increases, further examination is needed.

In terms of diet, eating more fish, meat, eggs, soy products and other foods, and eating more foods rich in protein and vitamins can speed up the body's recovery. Keep warm, don't eat cold or spicy food, get enough rest, and don't touch cold water. This way the body recovers faster.
