Dietary considerations for pelvic effusion

Dietary considerations for pelvic effusion

Pelvic effusion, like many diseases, is divided into physiological and pathological. Physiological pelvic effusion is normal, while pathological pelvic effusion requires treatment. Female friends with pelvic effusion also need to pay attention to their diet. They can eat more easily digestible foods, but must not eat irritating foods. They should eat more warm foods and vegetables and fruits, so that they can recover faster.

Pelvic fluid

That is, pelvic effusion, which is the presence of inflammatory exudate in the pelvic cavity. It can occur after the endometrium becomes inflamed. It is a slightly viscous fluid that exudes from the swollen cells of the endometrial tissue and is gradually wrapped by the surrounding tissue to form a cystic mass. If left untreated, it can grow slowly. If it is too large, medication cannot eliminate it and surgery is required to remove it. Pelvic effusion can be cured completely, but it can only be effectively treated after the pathogenic bacteria are identified.

In addition to normal pelvic effusion in women due to their physiological characteristics, pathological pelvic effusion is mostly due to pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis. The causes of pelvic inflammatory disease are often related to the patient's bad hygiene habits, such as having sexual intercourse during menstruation, within one month after childbirth, taking a bath within one month after gynecological surgery, etc. Medical-induced infection caused by improper disinfection during artificial abortion and induced labor can also cause pelvic effusion. It is best to perform a posterior fornix puncture examination to identify the nature of the fluid caused by pelvic inflammation. If there are chronic infection lesions, it may be an inflammation of the gynecological system such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes, or it may be caused by tuberculosis or tumors. Pelvic inflammatory disease should be treated early, otherwise it will affect fertility.

Dietary considerations for pelvic effusion

1. You need to eat light and easily digestible foods, such as adzuki beans, mung beans, wax gourd, lentils, purslane, etc. You should eat foods that have the effect of promoting blood circulation, regulating qi and dispersing nodules, such as hawthorn, peach kernel, fruit jelly bark, orange seeds, orange peel, rose, kumquat, etc. Appropriate supplement of protein, such as lean pork, duck, goose and quail.

2. Avoid eating raw or cold foods such as cold drinks, fruits, etc.

3. Avoid spicy, warm and irritating foods such as chili peppers, mutton, dog meat, rooster, etc.

4. Avoid eating fatty, greasy, cold and sticky foods. Such as fatty meat, crabs, snails, pickled and cured products, etc.

5. No smoking or drinking.

If tuberculosis is suspected, anti-tuberculosis treatment should be given. Draining the effusion is a means of investigation or symptomatic treatment and should not be done frequently. Because simply draining the accumulated fluid will not only fail to cure pelvic effusion, but will also increase the amount of fluid accumulated.

A small amount of pelvic fluid does not affect pregnancy

1. Pelvic effusion depends on the cause. Physiological pelvic effusion often occurs after women ovulate or in early pregnancy, and can usually disappear naturally. This small amount of pelvic effusion does not affect pregnancy or the fetus.

2. Pathological gynecological pelvic effusion is mostly caused by pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis or endometriosis. Clinically, pelvic effusion in most women is caused by inflammation, which is the presence of inflammatory exudate in the pelvis. If not treated, it can gradually grow. If it is too large, it will not be easy to eliminate it with medicine. If you actively treat the symptoms, the pelvic effusion will disappear quickly. The disappearance of pelvic effusion will not affect pregnancy.
