Labia majora swelling and pain during menstruation

Menstruation is a normal physiological reaction in the female body. This physiological reaction often leads to many diseases, such as swelling and pain in the labia majora. This should be taken seriously, as it may lead to more serious consequences or be a precursor to some diseases. However, many people do not know the reason for this situation. So what causes swelling and pain in the labia majora during menstruation?

Vulvar itching after menstruation is mostly caused by infection, the most common of which are viral infection and bacterial infection. Candidal vaginitis is a common vaginitis, which is mostly caused by Candida albicans. The bacteria usually parasitize in the vagina. When the sugar content and acidity in the vagina increase, the bacteria multiply rapidly and cause inflammation. Therefore, if female friends find that their vulva is itchy after menstruation, it is best to go to the hospital for a routine leucorrhea examination 3-7 days after the menstruation is over.

In addition, vulvar itching after menstruation may also be caused by not paying attention to menstrual hygiene during menstruation, especially the use of unclean menstrual products, which causes the vulva to be contaminated by unclean objects. Symptoms include a feeling of heaviness and burning in the perineum and increased vaginal discharge.

Precautions for vulvar itching after menstruation

1. Pay attention to personal hygiene and keep the vulva clean and dry; wash and change underwear frequently, do not share bath towels or bathtubs with others, do not wear underwear made of nylon or similar fabrics, and bath towels and underwear used during illness should be boiled and disinfected.

2. Pay attention to menstrual hygiene, change menstrual pads frequently during menstruation, and wash them frequently; keep the vulva clean and dry, do not use hot water to wash, and do not use soap to scrub.

3. Sexual intercourse is prohibited during treatment, or condoms should be used to prevent cross infection. Vaginal medication and sitz baths should be avoided during menstruation. If the disease recurs repeatedly, the husband's urine and prostate fluid should be checked, and repeated checks should be performed if necessary. If the result is positive, treatment should be given together.

Considering that it is caused by low immunity during menstruation and vulvitis caused by the use of sanitary napkins, it is recommended that you use Cleansing Lotion to clean the vulva. At the same time, use a mesh sanitary napkin, pay attention to keeping the vulva clean, and wash the vulva with warm water every day.
