The vagina is a very important private part of the female body, and women should pay special attention to protecting this area. Clinically, many symptoms of gynecological diseases occur in the vaginal area, so such situations must be taken seriously. Vaginal bleeding is also a common clinical problem. The causes of this problem are relatively complex and are also related to the amount of bleeding. What about mild vaginal bleeding? 1. Vaginitis in children During infancy, the ovaries are not yet developed, and the vaginal epithelium lacks the influence of estrogen, so the mucosa is thin and has weak resistance. Any pathogen can cause severe vaginitis, especially if there is foreign body retained in the vagina, which is more likely to cause infection and lead to vaginal bleeding, often accompanied by purulent and foul-smelling secretions. A detailed medical history and digital rectal examination can aid in the diagnosis. If necessary, a vaginal examination under anesthesia can confirm the diagnosis. 2. Chronic cervicitis It may manifest as cervical erosion or uterine polyps, causing bleeding during sexual intercourse or a small amount of irregular vaginal bleeding. A cervical smear examination is required to rule out early cervical cancer. Early tuberculous endometritis causes menorrhagia or prolonged menstruation due to endometrial congestion or ulceration, which can be differentiated from functional uterine bleeding by diagnostic endometrial biopsy. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease causes increased menstruation due to pelvic congestion or ovarian dysfunction, often accompanied by symptoms such as lower abdominal distension and low back pain. Patients often have a history of infertility. Gynecological examination revealed a retroverted uterus with limited mobility, and thickened fallopian tubes or tubo-ovarian masses were palpated on one or both sides. 3. Grape-like sarcoma It is a rare sarcoma with a very high malignancy. It is common in the vagina and cervix. Initially, irregular vaginal bleeding occurs during crying or urination. The disease progresses rapidly and invades the bladder and urethra, causing frequent urination, painful urination, and hematuria. Vaginal examination reveals grape-like masses in the vagina or cervix. The tumor may also protrude from the vulva and be brittle and prone to bleeding. Based on age characteristics and clinical manifestations, biopsy can confirm the diagnosis. |
