Seven months pregnant with a little blood

Seven months pregnant with a little blood

The seventh month of pregnancy is in the middle and late stages of pregnancy. At this time, the pregnant woman's body is prone to problems. The most serious of these is bleeding, and the worst result is miscarriage. However, a little blood below the genitals during the seventh month of pregnancy may also be physiological bleeding, which is related to stress and fatigue. It is difficult to distinguish it with a single symptom, and it needs to be judged in combination with other factors. So, what's the matter with a little blood down there when I'm seven months pregnant?

What is the reason for spotting during the seventh month of pregnancy?

Within 24-48 hours before delivery, the cervix begins to move, causing the fetal membrane near the cervix to separate from the uterine wall at that location. The capillaries rupture and a small amount of blood is discharged through the vagina and mixed with the mucus in the cervical canal and discharged. This bloody mucus that flows out of the vagina is called "bloody show". Bloody show is generally a sign of impending delivery.

Brown, pink, and red are all possible colors of "spotting". The amount of bleeding is significantly less than that during the menstrual period. It usually occurs 24 hours before labor pains, but varies from person to person. It is usually mixed with mucus and has a thick texture.

If there is only a small amount of blood, the expectant mother can stay at home to observe, and just be careful not to overwork and avoid strenuous exercise. If you experience fresh bleeding, more than your normal menstrual bleeding, or if you have abdominal pain, you should be hospitalized immediately.

However, there are many reasons for small amount of vaginal bleeding in the seventh month of pregnancy, such as physiological bleeding, excessive fatigue and work pressure. If bleeding is accompanied by abdominal pain, you should pay special attention as there is a possibility of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. If you see spotting during the second trimester of pregnancy, you may have threatened abortion or placenta previa, and you need to go to the hospital for a check-up in time.

Precautions after seeing red

1. Spotting does not mean immediate delivery

Generally speaking, "seeing blood" means that delivery is imminent, but of course it varies from person to person. It doesn't mean you will give birth immediately after you see blood. Everyone's physiological conditions are different. Seeing blood is just a sign that labor pains are about to begin. Delivery will occur 1-2 days after seeing blood. Some people need 4-5 days.

For those who have not had spotting before delivery, be sure to prepare diapers when going out. Especially for women who are giving birth for the first time, they will not give birth immediately after seeing blood, so they need to wait patiently.

2. Seeing blood does not mean immediate labor pains

Many women believe that they will have contractions immediately after they see blood. Because of the mental tension, they focus their attention completely on this, which leads to insomnia. The physical fatigue caused by lack of sleep will lead to decreased physical strength and lack of energy, which is very unfavorable for childbirth. Keep a good mood, wait actively and patiently, eat normally, ensure sleep, and maintain physical strength.

3. Differentiate between spotting and bleeding

If there is no new situation within 1-2 days after the mother's bleeding, there is no need to worry too much. If the bleeding cannot be stopped and is accompanied by pain, it is not spotting. If you cannot judge after bleeding, you should seek medical attention immediately.

How to distinguish bleeding from spotting

(1) Can it be stopped immediately?

If the bleeding does not stop within 1-2 days, you should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible to see if it is caused by other reasons. Is it painful? If the pain is very severe, there may be special circumstances. Go to the hospital for examination immediately. If you cannot move, call an ambulance.

(2) Is it sticky?

The blood that comes out during bloody show is mixed with mucus, while bleeding is not mixed with mucus.

(3) Is the amount of bleeding heavy?

If the amount of bleeding is heavier than your period and you use more sanitary napkins than usual, you should seek medical attention immediately.
