Causes of positive urine occult blood in women

Causes of positive urine occult blood in women

Nowadays, people are in a sub-healthy state, so they pay more attention to their physical health. There are many types of physical examination items, which can have a good detection effect on some diseases, so as to detect and treat them early. Most female examinations are gynecological, in addition to B-ultrasound, urine tests are also very important. Sometimes women’s urine tests may show positive results for occult blood. What is going on?

Occult blood is hidden blood, so occult blood in urine is occult blood in urine. Urine occult blood alone cannot be used as a basis for diagnosing a disease, because normal people may also have urine occult blood under normal circumstances, but normal urine occult blood is negative. Normal urine contains very few red blood cells, so urine occult blood is negative. Urine occult blood positive is the result of a routine urine test, indicating that the red blood cells in the urine have reached a certain number.

There are many situations in which occult blood in urine may occur. The first thing to consider is whether it is caused by kidney or urinary tract infection. Specific analysis of the causes of pathological occult blood in urine:

Inflammation. Whether it is glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis or cystitis, it may cause potential bleeding in the urine; stones. Stones in the kidneys, ureters, bladder, etc. may cause occult blood in the urine; tumors. Malignant or benign tumors of the kidneys, bladder, and ureters may cause occult blood in the urine. In addition, women may occasionally have occult blood in urine. Strenuous exercise and medication can also cause occult blood in urine.

A positive urine occult blood test paper reflects that the urine contains more red blood cells than hemoglobin and myoglobin, which is called hematuria. Normal human urine contains no red blood cells, or occasionally contains trace amounts of red blood cells (0 to 2 per high-power field of view). After strenuous exercise, heavy physical labor or standing for a long time, transient trace amounts of red blood cells may appear in the urine. This is normal and has no clinical significance. However, if a large number of red blood cells are frequently found in the urine, it indicates an abnormality and should be closely examined. If the urine is positive for occult blood and contains protein, kidney disease and hemorrhagic disease should be considered first, and further renal function tests can be done. If the urine protein is negative, you should go to a relevant specialist to find out the site and nature of the bleeding. It is generally believed that occult blood may not be obvious in lower urinary tract bleeding because red blood cells are not destroyed.

Urinalysis examination includes two parts: one is to check the blood cells in the urine, and the other is to check the tubular objects in the urine, both of which are examined under a high-power microscope. Urine occult blood vessels + -, there are a small amount of blood cells in the urine, so they can be vaguely seen under the microscope, the medical symbol is represented by (+), which means positive; tubular objects, a small amount can also be seen under the microscope, but it is lower than the standard base within a certain field of view, so it is represented by (-), which means negative. Some items on the routine urine analysis test report will be followed by "+" or "+++"... or numbers, indicating different degrees.

When reading the report, you should analyze it objectively, because there are many interfering factors that affect the accuracy of the test results, such as dietary factors, some interfering substances in urine, etc. When abnormalities are found in routine urine tests, please do not be too nervous or worried; similarly, when test results are inconsistent with clinical manifestations, do not be blindly optimistic. Be sure to cooperate with the clinician for further examination and analysis to avoid delaying the diagnosis of the disease.
