Why do women have heel pain?

For women, wearing high heels is an effective way to enhance their charm. However, wearing high heels frequently can easily cause heel pain, which can affect walking, running, and various movements. Women with weak qi and blood, poor liver function, etc. may also experience heel pain. When facing heel pain, we need to actively understand treatment. Below we will introduce in detail why women have heel pain.

From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the causes of heel pain may be: 1. Qi stagnation and blood stasis type Various reasons lead to slow local blood circulation, blood stasis, and blocked blood vessels, then Qi and blood cannot flow smoothly and cause pain, and the pain is localized, the pain is not tolerated by pressure, and walking is restricted. 2. Liver and kidney deficiency type: The liver, kidney and their branches run around the heel. The liver governs the tendons and stores blood, while the kidney governs the bones, stores essence, and produces marrow. In the elderly, the liver and kidneys are deficient, the essence and blood are deficient, and the meridians are not filled. As a result, the tendons are not nourished, the bones are not controlled, and the bones atrophy and the tendons relax. Therefore, there is soreness, dull pain, and fatigue in the heels when standing or walking. The pain is relieved by pressing and the pain is relieved by touching. 3. Cold stagnation and blood stasis type: the circulation of Qi and blood is slow, and the patient is affected by cold evil. Cold causes stagnation and contraction, which leads to blockage of meridians, stagnation of Qi and blood and pain. The patient refuses to be pressed and prefers heat but fears cold.

There may be a deficiency of Qi and blood combined with endocrine metabolic disorders, or there may be lumbar disc herniation compressing the nerve roots of the lower limbs, accompanied by the loss of trace elements and calcium. It is recommended that you regularly perform liver and kidney function tests, routine blood and urine tests, and endocrine system tests, eat more fruits and vegetables, supplement vitamins and calcium, distract your attention appropriately, and choose Chinese medicine and medicated baths combined with acupuncture for comprehensive conditioning. Soak your hands and feet in hot water before going to bed to promote blood circulation. The main thing is to keep a good mood and avoid tension. Suggestions: Pay attention to rest, keep warm, drink more hot water, eat a reasonable diet, have a regular work and rest schedule, relax, avoid overwork, supplement vitamins, trace elements and calcium, avoid spicy and cold foods, exercise appropriately, get more sun, eat warm porridge, soft and easily digestible foods, improve immunity, stay away from noisy environments and the stimulation of tobacco and alcohol, maintain a good attitude, avoid emotional tension, and pay attention to the standardization of diet and sleep.

Treatment:

1. Surgery

(1) Heel spur resection is performed for patients with intractable heel pain and those with bone spurs confirmed by X-ray.

(2) Calcaneus drilling is suitable for patients with high calcaneal pressure. Its purpose is to reduce the increased calcaneal pressure and treat stubborn heel pain without bone spurs.

(3) Calcaneous nerve transection can be used for unexplained intractable heel pain.

(4) Calcaneal bursectomy is the removal of the calcaneal tuberosity bursa and the subcalcaneal bursa.

(5) The purpose of calcaneal osteotomy for flatfoot is to increase the calcaneal angle through calcaneal osteotomy, straighten the everted calcaneus, and provide the calcaneus with a good biological scaffold.

2. Physical therapy

3. Medication

Treatment is oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics; injection of prednisolone acetate at the tender point once a week, which is often cured after 2 to 3 times. Posterior calcaneal bursitis often occurs between the Achilles tendon and the skin, caused by friction injury, and manifests as fluid accumulation in the bursa, swelling and tenderness. Avoiding friction and injecting prednisolone acetate into the cyst are effective.
