Premenstrual signs and pregnancy

Premenstrual signs and pregnancy

There are many signs when women are pregnant and before menstruation. For example, women will feel lower abdominal pain, chest pain, back pain, etc. two days before menstruation. These phenomena will disappear after menstruation comes. The signs that you are pregnant now are mostly missed menstruation, increased basal body temperature, frequent urination, etc. Below is a detailed introduction to the signs of premenstrual period and pregnancy.

1. Premenstrual symptoms

There are many premenstrual symptoms, the most common of which include migraine, lumbar pain, pelvic pain, chest pain, mood swings, drowsiness and fatigue, changes in appetite, worse skin conditions, nausea and vomiting, dysmenorrhea, loss of appetite, constipation, and dizziness. These symptoms will appear a few days before menstruation, that is, they will appear before the menstrual day. These symptoms disappear when your period ends.

2. Symptoms of early pregnancy

There are many symptoms in early pregnancy, and different pregnant women have different early pregnancy reactions. Common early pregnancy reactions include dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, chest pain, nausea and vomiting, cessation of menstruation, drowsiness, frequent urination, darker skin color, and preference for acidic foods. These early pregnancy reactions are mainly related to changes in hormones in the body and usually appear six weeks after pregnancy. That is to say, early pregnancy symptoms will not appear until at least ten days after the menstrual period is overdue.

What are the symptoms before menstruation and in early pregnancy? The above introduces premenstrual symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms respectively. It can be seen that the two have the same symptoms and different symptoms, but the different symptoms are more common and occur at different times. I hope that after reading the above introduction, you can distinguish between premenstrual symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms.

3. Increased basal body temperature

Under normal circumstances, the basal body temperature of women of childbearing age is as follows: a typical bidirectional body temperature with low body temperature from the onset of menstruation to the middle period (2 weeks before the next menstruation), and then a high body temperature (about 0.4°C higher than the previous temperature). If the body temperature remains high in the latter period and menstruation does not occur for more than 21 days, then pregnancy is indicated. This is an important indicator of pregnancy. If the body temperature is uneven and the difference is large, it is mostly due to corpus luteum dysfunction, which often puts the fetus in danger and must be treated promptly.

4. Fatigue and drowsiness occur

Are you always full of energy, but suddenly feel exhausted? The large amount of progesterone secreted will make you feel exhausted. Almost all pregnant women suffer from this symptom. You can observe other symptoms to determine whether you are pregnant.

5. Breast changes

After menopause, the breasts become swollen, painful, and gradually enlarged, the nipples feel tingling, the areola becomes larger and brown nodules appear, and dilated veins can be seen under the skin of the breast. This breast swelling will not be accompanied by fever or other abnormal phenomena. It is just a normal physiological reaction.

6. Changes in appetite

Some pregnant women begin to experience changes in appetite shortly after their menstrual period (about 2 weeks). It often occurs after getting up in the morning, with symptoms such as nausea, heartburn, loss of appetite, and picky eating. Some people simply don't want to eat and may even feel like vomiting, while others crave something sour. These symptoms are called early pregnancy reactions and will generally disappear naturally after half a month to a month.
